England v Australia, 1st ODI, Headingley, 6 September, 2013
Now that the warm-ups are out of the way (that Ashes palaver, T20 clown cricket, and northern jaunts) onto the REAL stuff.

Who cares - it wouldn't be a proper contest anyway - Aus are NOTHING without Davey Warner.

Is there any point in Rikki-ing this thread? Doesn't sound like there is much chance of any play.

Just as well there's a couple of big footy matches on tonight. Stoopid weather.
I'm with BD - rikki-ing would be pointless.

True enough, Dan, but if T20 clown cricket has been good for anything, it's JAMODIs IMHO. The skills exhibited in ODIs seems to be a little more traditional and watchable than the beach cricket palaver of the shortest version of the game (where you get one decent game in 20).

Yeah, I prefer cricket to no cricket. Was being curmudgeonly. I suppose I'm actually even interested, really, because we haven't go no-hopers like Ian Bell and Tim Bresnan in the side.

David Willey should be there though. Maybe that's why the weather gods are wreaking vengeance.
