Sreesanth life ban
http://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/sreesanth-guilty-of-spot-fixing-report/story-fndpt0dy-1226718824880
TEST fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, 30, has been banned from cricket for life after being found guilty of spot-fixing during the Indian Premier League, authorities said Friday.
Ankeet Chavan, a teammate of Sreesanth's in the Rajasthan Royals, was also handed a life ban following a probe by the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) anti-corruption chief Ravi Sawani.
"Sreesanth and Chavan have been banned for life from playing any representative cricket, or in any way being associated with the activities of the BCCI or its affiliates," the board said in a statement.
The BCCI's disciplinary committee, taking action on Sawani's report, also handed a five-year suspension to Amit Singh, who played in the IPL till last year for his involvement in spot-fixing.

He was in trouble the minute I suggested he was an underrated bowler.
I didn't realise my hex went quite so deep as to end a career.
My powers are strong.

Re: Sreesanth life ban
Surely if you get 10 years' ban for spot fixing in Tests, by proportionality of importance you deserve about a 10 minute ban for doing so in IPL...
Seems a bit extreme compared to the Pakistanis but anything substantial would have been effectively career ending anyway given his age. A wasted talent in so many ways.

No no no. You got it all wrong. According to Sree the disciplinary board committee meeting went off 'well', the members were 'co-operative' and he is training hard to make an India comeback soon. Either he is living in denial at age 30 given Indian judiciary's speed of working or he passed some of the loot to win a clean chit a few months later.
My only issue in this whole thing is how can corrupt crooks sitting in bigger places of power decide who has the right to be corrupt from people below them and punish someone else for the same?
