Re: Honest Opinions
refusing to accept that an error with bigger consequences is more noteworthy/regrettable is idealist, not common sense.
anyway looks like we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Re: Honest Opinions
Looks like the forum has gone beserk over this issue.
Here's my tuppence worth...
If India refuse to continue with the tour, they should be banned from international cricket for a period. It's not the first time umpires have made mistakes, and it won't be the last. Tough, deal with it, that's cricket. There was talk of banning England from internationals if we boycotted an ODI series in Zimbabwe over the Mugabe regime.... why should India be treated differently? At least we weren't threatening a boycott just cos we were sulking over a lost Test match.
Only India, with the monetary influence they exert over the world game, could get away with this absolute nonsense.

I didn't say not as noteworthy i said it's not any worse when used to judge umpires and their competence.
giving tendulkar wrongly out will always be more noteworthy than giving out some barely known player, it's still only 1 mistake though.

Ash wrote:please don't yell wrote:India made many many mistakes in the game, thats all they can work on.
India needed a massive amount of help from the umps to win in 2001 but we still made so many mistakes we learnt from them and then were able to easily beat India in their own backyard.
you're right - of course we made mistakes and have weaklinks within the side but so did/do australia. we did enough not to lose. i take your point about working on what is in your control but its frustrating to lose this way. and i think "massive amount of help" may be a slight exaggeration - the umpiring was certainly nowhere near as atrocious as it has been the past few days.
Jaques, Gilchrist and Clarke too did a hell lot with bats no? Aussies didnt do too well except that Umpires let them out of jail everytime they were in it. Indians did very well except the umpires pushed them in jail everytime they got on top.

Re: Honest Opinions
Initially, I thought that everyone involved should just STFU and get on with playing the series. Then I thought that it was funny that the Indians got their knickers in such a knot and the psychos came out in force on the forum. Now it's just boring. Everyone just needs to STFU again and get on with it. There's too much bullshit talk flying around.

"The Waugh twins contribution to Australian cricket has been overrated - grossly by themselves and some of their supporters - "
when you wake up you will forget being hynotised

I eagerly await more insightful opinion on SRW's redinking and MEW's languid batting style and penchant for boofy hair.
