thoutght it might be fun to rate players performance afetr each test and add up or average afetr the end of the series...score to be out of 10

Carbs.....5....batted well in the first dig and fielded like a demon on speed
Chef.......5.....thought he led the team from the front...a knock in the 2nd dig that will be under rated
Trott.......2.....failed but much loved saffie ...stoopid gcs slagged him and this will bond the pomgolian/saffies
KP.........4.....really applied himself and was a bit stiff
IRonCubbard..5...polished his shoes and fought hard will make piles this series...knew the pitch was at fault with his dismissal
Nephew...4 ...fought hard and was not out at the end...better days ahead and needed the run
Prior......3 ...kept well but must wish the calf had kept him out...J.Knickers may replace
Princess F...7...great effort in 1st dig and with the bat...faded the longer the match went
Chinhead....1...collar was turned up nicely...abject with the ball and outbowled by Lyon...desparate to get out quickly when batting...Monty may bowl with him in Adelaide
Trembler...4....kept it tight and fought well when batting
Jimmeh....5...bowled like the champ he is without much luck

Ox/Spivs
Buck....3....took a catch and fought hard in the 2nd dig...too old
GCS...6...hard to argue with a 40 and a ton...but is unquestionably out IQ'd by Belf...must be hidden from media
Schoolgirl...1...appeared in many telly ads but otherwise did zip
Beetle...3...tried hard but doubts remain
Clarke....6...failed 1st knock but skipperedd well and made a ton
specialist fieldsman...3...enhanced fielding rep but little else
haddit...8 ...was TIDY BEHIND THE STUMPS  and made runs
not Pidge...9...improbable hero
cot...4...honest and kept it tight
Rhino...5...gets early wickets
Elmer...5...picked upa couple of key wickets

Warner - 11. What more can be said? Hammered the Poms.
Rogers - 3. Bit tame. The weakest link. Played like a Pom.
Watson - 4. Bit feeble. Handy bowling and grimacing.
Clarke - 12.75. Nuff said. Hall of Fame stuff. Top sledging too.
Smith - 5. Catching specialist, otherwise a bit anonymous.
Bailey - 4. Nice catch, batting rather less of an asset.
Haddin - 13. Little champ.
Johnson - 14. The master, with ball, bat, grin and tache.
Harris - 10. Little short of magnificent.
Siddle - 10. Mr 100% always for Australia, never lets them down.
Lyon - 9.5. Outbowled Swann risibly, contributed in the field.

Warner & Clarke, Haddin and the four main bowlers won it. The rest were fairly interchangeable.

Please note these ratings are based strictly on match performance, and do not reflect the player's general worth.

Carberry - 5. Decent enough first knock, unfortunate in the second.
Cook - 4. The England calamity started at the fall of this prime first wicket. Disastrous policy of deliberately leaking a shedload of singles in the Oz second innings (2 wkts down). Some small redemption with bat second dig, but a lousy way to go.
Trott - (-1). Truly, palpably awful. Flounders flounder better.
KP - 2. Gifted his wicket twice like a novice, when his team depended on him.
Bell - 4. No, not the worst. But failed miserably first innings, and second innings, got set, then bage and meh together. "Little Pietersen".
Root - 5. A twattish thrash when solidity urgently needed first knock, showed more substance and solidity second time round (too late for the innings and match, but still).
Prior - (-1). See Trott. England used to depend on his runs too. Otherwise, they might as well bring back Read.
Broad - 8. Spirit started to run on empty after two big contributions. Little wonder when he saw what he saw around him.
Swann - (-1). See Trott. Does he know why he is in Australia? Does he know he IS in Australia?
Tremlett - 5. Good input considering everything, started to go to pot after everyone else had, bar Broad. I don't think I'd drop him. I'd give him some colleagues instead.
Anderson - 5. Deteriorated, after another valiant but unavailing first day (the worrying thing is that that has been the verdict on Jim quite often lately ...)

First "bring back Chris Read" I've heard for a while! Sure Bob's still championing his cause from somewhere...

My two "contributions" above were a mixture of tongue-in-cheek and what-the-hell eye-rolling, and not offered as serious analyses (partly because points scores always seem a bit "X Factor/Shallow/Makey-Up" culture ...), - hence the "same-old" Read rhetorical chestnut.

Probably only from a pub toilet somewhere in Nottingham.
