Swanny's diary 2013
If I have committed an NTR, I apologise but I could see a link any where else.Nice little good luck to Trott at the end. Also hope to see more Jimmy and Swanny impressions.

Re: Swanny's diary 2013
Yeah, a seriously solid bit of support for IJLT. Good to hear.
(Though the elegiac tidal music in the background gives the comeback hopes a rather pessimistic undertow.)
"On the pitch and in the camp". They're not kidding about the last word - the Nasal impression and all.
Another disturbing thing to an English ear is the way Swanny takes the (same old) positives out of the 0-1.
Horribly reminiscent of, almost identical to, a previous (falsely) upbeat message:
"The mood in the dressing room is fine, to be honest. We've gone 1-0 down but there are some characters in that room, some real tough lads. As disappointed as we are, we can't mope around. We can't sit around thinking too much. We've got to learn from it, obviously. There's four games to go, and some of us have been in this position before."
Can anyone recognise the speaker - a former (short-lived) England skipper?
(Hint: almost exactly 6 years ago.)
I'd much prefer it if England's premier spinner had said something on the lines of: "Well, that was a right bloody horlicks we committed in Brisbane - so we've been knuckling down to some serious net practice ever since - and doing some work on the opposition's weaknesses (of which we have worked out there are many)."
Don't guess who said that one - I just made it up. But it'd be the right sort of message, in the circs.

Maybe I'm just odd, but would prefer my players concentrating on the cricket than doing media shit.

Taipan probably wants them to hold down permanent jobs as well.

When a team is winning no one gives a shit about players doing diaries or ads or sprinkler dances or [insert non playing wank off here] ...but start losing and they are the root of all evil

He's a natural clown who entertains. I'm sure his fans appreciate his efforts.
