De Kock will be sorted out quick when he plays against the likes of Johnson, Anderson and that misbehaved upstart broad. So wait before you jump the gun and make him an icon.

Chasing 281 at Durban (which apparently will be a record if it happens). We're done, I'm thinking 150-175 if it goes bad, 220 ish if they make an effort.

Was worth 320+ on a quick outfield.

Good to see that Dhawan's IPL experience is helping him.

Wow, the Bannies just couldn't be arsed when they tour the southern hemisphere, can they??
de Kock looks another classy find by the SAffers, and how good a bloke is Amla - "embarrassed" to beat Viv's quickest to 4000 ODI runs mark.
Hard to see anything but a mutherferkin hiding in the Test for the Indians on this form.

Re: South Africa v India, 2nd ODI, Durban, 8 December, 2013
hopefully they could have spent some time in the middle .. but even that was not to be. I don't think as a fan that is too much to ask .. after all this was the same attack that was given a hiding by pakistan. And these hyped up megastars can't even stick around ?
the cloudy conditions reminded one at once of the Indian team similarly landing up in NZ/Aust in the 90s on unfamiliar territory. The crowd relaxing on grassy slopes, sipping beer watching us getting a hiding. NZ used to add their special dope of icy pole winds @ Dunedin etc. The procession of batsmen broken only by a good innings by SRT and the same glum, clueless dressing room conditions. Despite all the hype, there has been very little evolution here.

On second thoughts, they just bowl far better on these type of pitches .. Amla was taken out like clingy snot stuck in nasal hair by Junaid Khan. Usually one can gauge the quality of pace attack of any team by the ease by which they get rid of Amla & Chanderpaul.

Dhobi's turn to be vindeicated next! Playing 'ODIs' before tests are enough preparation - for getting used to complete humiliations?

BCCI - Please get your team to play more games against pissweak teams on flat tracks at home before an important overseas tour. I am sure if we play badly right through the tour, we will look forward to 'revenge' at home against the Saffies. Of course we last won a home test series against them nearly 10 years back in 2004.

Re: South Africa v India, 2nd ODI, Durban, 8 December, 2013
SA & NZ tours should be clubbed along with Australia tours. If they do not have time for practice matches ie.
One positive out of yesterday's ODI was that the bowlers somewhat managed to contain SA to a point where 45 balls without conceding a boundary. But frittered away due to miscommunication or some wayward bowling at the final over. Dhawan didn't even want to try, he held his bat aloft so that he wouldn't have to stay out there for long.
