Darwin looked like he had no clue to anything that bounced above his knee. The Ostrich currently bowling with some steepling heat.

Another one which was coming... this is turning out to be a very steep learning curve.

Good session from India after a shaky start. Usually quite a lot of runs at Joburg when the sun is out. The pitch is expected to quicken up tomorrow. Kohli who looked ordinary in the ODIs going at a run a ball here. The odds look a bit lopsided atm.

SA attack not looking particularly penetrative. Sometimes matches go against all the trend of predictions and to date India hasn't looked like rabbits in the headlights on an admittedly nonthreatening pitch.

Tahir really knows how to get the opposition to fire up. If he plays against us again Clarke and co. won't be terribly worried.

That's the only way a wicket could fall when Tahir is bowling. Gosh he's terrible. You wonder if SA can be serious with that selection. He did well against Pakistan but they have always struggled against spin. He's cannon-fodder for the Indians.

Indian batting looking more solid perhaps than expected. Has been good for them post-lunch save for the run out. They will gain a lot of confidence from this. Guess they will be aiming for around 400+. Kohli has been impressive, helped of course by Tahir's pies.

This is a small ground with quick boundaries. With Tahir bowling the sky's the limit. India has been impressive to date. A big total looks on the cards.

Kohli set to do a Marcus North and make a ton in his first test in SA. Much improved after his ODI form.
