But Swann has backtracked and said he wasn't referring to anyone in the England dressing room.
Which is even more cowardly - sledging the Aussies now he doesn't have to go out there and face them anymore.
Fine player. Massive twat. Thanks for the memories. Massive twat.
Dello wrote:skully wrote:What was the gist of the sledges?
"Some people playing the game at the minute have no idea how far up their own backsides they are.
"It will bite them one day, and when it does I hope they look back and are embarrassed about how they carry on."
You'd assume it was an obvious dig at Pietersen, if he was talking about his former teammates, or perhaps Warner or Twatto if he's casting his shade further afield.
Did I read the first post above incorrectly? I assumed you meant he had backed away from the Pietersen sledges and turned his attention to the Aussies. I was wonder what the Aussie sledges were about - thought there might be a giggle or two.

No, I just meant he must've been referring to someone, and if he's adamant it wasn't anyone in the England camp, it's not much of a leap to assume it's someone in the Aussie throng.
Re: Graeme Swann retires from international cricket with immediate effect
Maybe he was just letting out years of stored-up frustration against Billy.

Re: Graeme Swann retires from international cricket with immediate effect
He's been total bullshit all series and even a lesbian cuttlefish would put in better performances, but he must stay in the team and continue to be shit or sit tight until the end of the series, carrying the drinks in the knowledge that when it ends he'll be retiring anyway Whatevs. None of his actions would've helped the team, unless he blew up the whole of Australia and hunted down every Aussie traveller / ex-pat and killed them. They could stick 8 scarecrows and 3 midgets in the side and still beat us. Unless of course there's some inside knowledge about the all time greatness of his drinks carrying?
Re: Graeme Swann retires from international cricket with immediate effect
That bit about the lesbianism of the cuttlefish was a bit uncalled for.
What have lesbian cuttlefish ever done to you?

I love love cricket politics. I really do. But the thing about KP has gotten old...
Now if Swann had revealed that Kevin's wife was sleeping with Broad (presumably because her husband's head cannot be easily located) or if Anderson shagged Root as part of a breaking into the team ritual.......

Dan's brain scares and entertains me simultaneously...not at all like my peaceful imagings of what Monty likes in his scrambled eggs, what the Princess appreciates in a shapely set of mag wheels or what Chef wakes with in a cold lather horror at 4.00am

She will form part of our pace attack at the G alongside Geoff Boycott's mother armed with a stick of rhubarb.
Australia will retaliate by calling up David Warner's brother, Mitchell Johnson's mother and an escape goat for Sydney.

Re: Graeme Swann retires from international cricket with immediate effect
without doubt, the Swann "retirement" debacle is the most hideously hubris to the brim filled bucket of mendacious bile I can remember in my very long time of following test cricket...
for the remainder of my life there will be two asterisks applied to the career averages of test cricketers - one of course is for those mumu and the other is for the Chin - who in two days has completely trashed his reputation as a cricketer and reasonable approximate of being a half decent human being.
it should be noted the records of cheats like azza and cronje should be expunged totally from the records

Hardly horrie. Say what you want about him, but he was the best orthodox spinner in world cricket from 2008 until 2012, and you Aussies would have killed for a guy like him in your side during that time.

horrors, when did you ever think of Swanny as "a cricketer and reasonable approximate of being a half decent human being".
Cricketer get old, he gets worse, he gets dropped, he retires.
Get over it.
Happened tons of times before - Martyn, Thorpe, MacGill, plenty more examples if I could be bothered thinking of them.
Re: Graeme Swann retires from international cricket with immediate effect
tosh...yes a very good spinner (albeit on sometimes friendly pitches) and his record there is unquestioned...but it is the manner or more to the point the ill-mannered nature of the Chin's departure that has permanently stained his career

Ha just seen that. Must admit that cricket unlike footy is never dull. In AFL for instance everyone is too scared to say something in case they give ammunition for the opposition. Even family members alike usually button their lips as well. It's such clichéd industry. In cricket hearts are worn on sleeves and it adds a bit of spice to proceedings.

So the Marlon Samuels incident permanently stained Shane Warne's career and made close to 1000 international wickets irrelevant?

Horrie still hates Damien Martyn for retiring mid-series. Even worse as that was a live rubber...
