Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
Please not Giles. Please not Giles. Please not Giles. Please not Giles. Please not Giles. Please not Giles. Please not Giles.
Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
Or rather, he's been retired. Paul Downton's conducted his Ashes review and told him to hand over the keys.
Please not Giles, etc.

Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
So Paul Downton makes a nice quiet start to his reign, then....

Please not Giles. I would even take back Peter Moores, just for the sake of it not being Ashley Giles.

In good news Juan Carlos I has been appointed as England Coach after a typo on the contract

Who are the alternatives to Giles? I wouldn't mind Tom Moody.

Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
On the serious side, it had to happen.
(I'm trusting the thrusting reportage of the Torygraph, which by dint of borderline-illegal journalistic penetrations usually picks out true stories.)
So farewell and thanks to Andy Flower. He achieved more than any England coach before in Ashes terms, despite some horrible blips along the way. But he clearly lost either his touch, or the respect of his squad, in the last 12 months. I go with the latter explanation. And for that reason, would not fall on Flower like a ton of bricks.
But it had to happen. 0-5, with a skills-wise not inferior squad = prima facie red card.
Goochie next?

Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
Flower Gooch Shine. Has to. Saker is good tactically, but one wonders about his ability to technically coach. I'd keep him - he did wonders for all bowlers concerned in terms of gameplans, but there seems to be a bit of a drop in techniques.
Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
Martyn Moxon - or indeed Peter Moores - assisted by Paul Collingwood. Colly to take over in max. 2 years.
I don't mean Moores entirely as a joke. But that would mean the end of Kev. And a new look at serious collaborative effort.
Okay, Moores mainly as a joke at this stage. But better than Giles.
Is Moody free?!?!?

Will Smith be able to follow Kev's triumphant texts?
Or will he have to follow him in English, on twitter?

Re: Telegraph reporting Andy Flower's resigned.
If England want to continue their love affair with traditional stern Southern African leaders of men, Graham Ford must be free from SL at this stage?
Or that clever legal fellow Jan Smuts?
But please not Micki Arthur. Not Mickey Mouse Arthur. Not Micky Arfur. Please not Mackey Arthropod. Not Mick Arthritis. Please no.

Speaking of mickeys (Irish for cocks btw), I guess Vaughan is making all available media to the ECB hot with his demands to be next coach.
He might even offer a buddy deal with his old mucker Gilo as his running mate.

Graham Ford has left SL to take over at Surrey on a three year deal.
Might've been a good shout, but he's probably not going to shaft the Brown Caps before he's even taken his first training session.
