If this is true he should be in fine form for the South African tests.

Not sure. I'd preferred to have seen it myself - quality spell, no doubt, but really if it was still 84-87mph, I wouldn't want to touch him. He simply looks innocuous without that extra yard.
Thickedge, he's nearly 30 - way too old for your fetish.

WHAT ??
And ruin the England' selectors/captain's record of maintaining an unchanged side for the next 3 years,
regardless of individual performances both inside and outside of the chosen few (11).
Gi'e us a break and don't be daft, mon.

He tore up county cricket last year before proceeding to bowl gash in the tests.

With the seemingly imminent returns of Flintoff, Jones and a glimmer of hope with Harmison, maybe the poms will have an embarrassment of riches in the bowling department.
They may rout the Saffers.

You'd be assuming we actually make 400 in the first innings for once...

Well I would have thought the above is an affirmation that I do.
Jones and Flintoff are chances to return against the Saffers, something probably considered unlikely several months ago. Harmison in form would be a boon to England's chances. Maybe he's working his way into form.
In contrast SA has injury concerns out of the IPL and will not be attuned to test cricket in the way that the poms will be when the two meet at Lord's.

Re: Harmi back in form?
If we had Jones, Flintoff and Harmy fit and in form and playing for England, SA would have a tough time.
As it is, one has bowled 46 FC overs this year, one has had one good game after some abject ones and one is currently injured.
Furthermore, we're going for a 4-man attack nowadays, which means getting rid of one of two mainstays - Monty and SiBo. Oh, and Jimmy gives good brain.
So, as I've said elsewhere 'pipe dreams'.

I'm happy enough with Harmi's deliveries in the 'H' and the 'I'.
