of course it was racism...both directed to Aboriginal people and people from asia...the points of difference with SA was the latter was a full blown violent fascist state...as I have argued many times here - the past 20 years has seen the reintroduction of effectively racist positions in national public policy - the position on refugees being a case in point

You miss the point h . . . there is NO "they are/were worse than us" scenario here . . . you were both as bad as the other - the Saffers did it more openly . . . the Aussies were at it more covertly . . . the end result was, however, exactly the same (only less brutal in the Aussies case)!

Anyway - seems like you both are running a close parallel course towards emancipation - rah rah rah!

And yes, Red is oppressed !

 Very Happy  @ trike !

white Oz policy ended in the late 60s with the referendum on constitutional change which inter alia meant Aboriginal people would be counted in the Census - and also in regard to Asian migration with the retirements of menzies and calwell

the white Oz policy was reintroduced by Howard in the 90s (children overboard fabrication) to garner the redneck vote (mainly Qld and WA) and the kicking of First Peoples recommenced with Howards intervention in the NT...the ALP moved to the right on migration and First Peoples' issues

Oh so they weren't counted in the census before the 60s? Does that mean official Australian policy was that they were not human?

there are still references in the Constitution which include first peoples with flora and fauna - so yes...there is a proposed referendum to rectify this and provide specific acknowledgements of Aboriginal people in the preface and in other parts of the Constitution...this will be voted down by the red necks

What's this . . . a history lesson on the vulgar vagrancies of Australian politics in an effort to cleanse your soul?
Nice try horatio, but no apples chum!

Blame cannot be apportioned to singular people (as you try so very hard to do) - but to the nation as a whole.
It is THEY who elected said people to manage them.

Sadly that's what's known as democracy.
You can't please all of the people all of the time . . . . .

Just as well horrie doesn't get involved in parliamentary debates as he takes 48 hours to come back with a weak retort.

Anyway is funny enough to see him making accusations of racism given his earlier remarks.
