On current form, you'd expect Costa Rica to smash England!!

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Just watched a replay of the 94 Brazil v Holland Quarter Final. What a cracking game (3-2 to eventual champions Brazil) played between 2 teams overflowing with superstars.
Brazil had Romário, Bebeto, Dunga, Taffarel, and Jorginho, while the Dutch included Bergkamp, Overmars, Rikjaard and the De Boer twins, and were without the injured Van Basten and Gullit.

No.
That was 1998 against Argentina where he received a 50 metre pass and his first touch was impeccable. And his finish was equally as good.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Switzerland learning the hard way what Arsenal fans could've told them years ago: Djourou and Senderos paired at CB is a recipe for abject humiliation.
France looked pretty minty, though, must be said.

It's difficult to tell that it was DENNIS BERGKAMP from the commentary, but here it is:Paul Keating wrote:JGK wrote:Did Bergkamp score screamer in that game?

I liked the bit where they said his name a lot.

Feel a bit uncomfortable having Danny Murphy, Ron Atkinson soundalike, keep saying "Lazy" when talking about the Ghanaians....

Cracking 2nd half in Germany v Ghana. I love the natural relaxed skills of the Ghanaians.
And crikey, what a goal by Messi to get the Argies out of jail against the very unlucky Iranians.

New match, same shit from the Belgians. Lukaku's been invisible, but Origi's pace at the tail end is nice. Shit match all in all, apart from the last ten minutes when something lit a fire in the Belgian arses. Unlucky Ruskies.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Fuuuuuucccccckkkkk me. Did I NOT expect to see a 6-goal thriller betwixt Algeria and South Korea. Mental game. Mental how potent Algeria were in front of goal. Good times, this WC.
Re: Football World Cup 2014
Yeah, that game and Iran-Nigeria looked like the banker snoozers of the group stage. One of them delivered...
Not quite the South Korea of 2002 to say the least, but at least they put up a fight in the second half.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
USA leading Portugal 2-1 after being one nil down.
Ronaldo having a shocker.
First USA goal is a contender for third best goal of the tournament.
