Depending on the pitch, can only see Ashwin for Sturat.

Dead pitch. India to win as they'll pick Ashwin.

Kerrigan (in for Plunkett, "rotation policy") to take 15 wickets.

You might be right with the 15, but that's his economy rate rather than number of wickets...

Sincerely hope not.... Kerrigan's shot to sh*t.
Stick with the same XI - draw Lord's - where once again the track will resemble TB's - then have the remaining 3 test grounds prepare fast wickets. Cook will have found his form, so drop Stokes and draft in Finn . . . go all out with pace.
Simples.
Oh yeah - who am I kidding?!

shirley Lords will offer a bit more life than TB?
feel for the trundlers from both teams - even ladydi and Instant K-
admit to confusion over the selection of kerrigan in the Pom squad...the guy's figures are modest at best...is he there as some sort of sideshow alley coconut shy?

Anderson's stats since the first Ashes test at Trent Bridge last year? I reckon they must be shit. Hasn't done much for about a year and he always seems tired these days.

Jimmeh - career - 95 Tests, 359 wkts @ 30.50
Since 18 July 2013 - 12 Tests, 42 wkts @ 36.57
Not up to Jimmeh's standards.

It's not just Jammeh. All the senior players are stinking the place out. The kids are carrying England.
We know all about Cook, Prior, Anderson. Not many are talking about Ian Bell - runs @ 28 since the Oval last year.
Funnily enough, he averages just 27 (no hundreds) across his career whenever Pietersen hasn't been in the side to play the alpha male role.
Of England's senior stalwarts, Broad is the only guy just about justifying his selection - and he's hobbling through games with a worsening knee problem.
Should've binned them all off after the 5-zip and started again.
Re: England v India, 2nd Test, Lords, 17-21 July, 2014
There's not too much in the cupboard pace-wise either though... can we expect Finn to come back and lead the attack so soon? Onions is too old, Tremlett finished, Rankin never should have started... then it's raw youngsters who may or may not ever be any good. And obviously no spinner to take the pressure off them.
Lose even a below par Jimmy and injury-hit Broad and we probably go from losing mostly close games to sinking to Bangladesh level.

Okay - an England left field selection - omitting those who haven't cut the mustard recently...
Robson
Compton
Balance
Root
Moeen
Buttler (w)
Rashid
Jordan
Broad (c)
Plunkett / Finn
Anderson
Average age : 27
They ALL bat - as Jimmeh has recently proven.
4 quicks ; 1 leggie and 2 part time offies.
Send Cook and Bell back to the CC to get runs.

No. He'd become an identikit vanilla Stepford Captain. There'd be plenty of positives, platitudinous responses to pertinent questions and at least 15 mentions of 'the dressing room' and 'the lads'. No histrionics (unless someone warns one of his players twice about a possible Mankad).
I think they give them some sort of mood-stabilising jabs, to 'mashed potato without butter' the f*ck out of them.
Re: England v India, 2nd Test, Lords, 17-21 July, 2014
I thought they already had. At least the veterans.

No, they've given them all anti-twat jabs.
Unfortunately, the serum is still in an experimental stage and doesn't seem to have worked.

You mean it is like flu jabs? They infect you with flu to give later immunisation.

No, it was supposed to be a cure. They contracted it off the ECB, where it is rife.

Fark me ..... Broadley were only a suggestion as el capitano.
Balance or the Butler or Root ball or anyone else - 'cept the moron from Essex.
