In fairness his credentials were in the longer form of the game.

Well I was quoting SA sources but his best performances have been in the longer form of the game. He did very well on the 'A' tour of oz too. The other day he came in with just over two over to go until the end of the innings. Today he batted first drop in overcast conditions after Amla had failed. Perhaps there are some mitigating circumstances. Sounds like you might have written him off though.

What SA sources? Most would have had QDK, Elgar and van Zyl in front of him.
