So Vettori's still better than Sodhi and Craig despite basically turning up to play on crutches? Is Dipak Patel available?

After a poor series v Aus (when all his team mates were dining out) Hafeez is having a monster series v Sheep. 96, 101*, & now 178*.
Probably be a massive woof, but a triple could be on the cards if the Wackies will let him.

Wonder if that relegates them to minnow status, given he never performs against non minnows

Play has been suspended for an hour out of respect to Hughes - some indication that it may be cancelled for the day.

Was looking forward to watching some cricket today on thanksgiving holiday. But heard this sad news and really appreciate the teams cancelling day's play. Such a nice gesture for a fellow sportsman.

Pak have lost a stack of wickets this morning. Apparently* there has been little or no celebration at the fall of each wicket.
You can't imagine that either team want to be out there or are really busting a gut.

McCullum's just scored a hundred of 78 balls. Very muted celebration.

Wackies hearts didn't appear in it today, and fair enough. Fair play to Mukka.

Almost every player from both teams was crying during the minute's silence before play today. Luke Ronchi was in bits.
Forget the sledging and carrying-on that sometimes takes place. The closeness of the cricket community is undeniable, and should be treasured.

Maybe I am just cynical.

NZ's minds are free and look how they're playing. They seem to be devastated about Hughes, and are just playing on instinct. Amazing what can happen when cricket is made less complicated.

Maybe David Warner will go out there and make the fastest century in history when the Australia-India series eventually starts.Henry wrote:NZ's minds are free and look how they're playing. Don't think it is at all to do with Hughes. They were as good as Pakistan in the previous match and this is a slightly bouncier pitch than last time. And where Yasir Shah and Babar have been brilliant previously, it was buffet bowling yesterday.
Or the converse could just as well apply to Pakistan's non performance.
