Man, the Lankans took far to long to make their 400. 5 sessions - clearly would rather not lose than try for a series squaring win.

Which is why they are schlapping around mid-table.

They have done well, made positive selections and batted very well.

Pak having a bit of a wobble after the Younis / Misbah partnership (6 century partnerships in 14 innings). Can't see SL winning, though.

These teams have taken cricket back to the 60s with 2.5 runs per overs. Misbah was 2 of 49 balls at one point

Aye, with Cook and Trott against them this winter as well, I'm sure that England fans are in for some exciting viewing.

Yet the SL run rate was not a lot better.

Perhaps they are all protesting against T20.

Although slow in this innings, Misbah's performances since being made captain really have been excellent, and his overall Test batting stats make reasonable reading. Obviously the ability must always have been there ... did politics keep him out of the side much in the past?

He may be very negative at times as both a batsman and a captain, but Misbah could be just the captain Pakistan needs at the moment. A bit like Border for Australia and Hussain for England- Someone to give them a bit of backbone, and make them hard to beat.
