Re: World Cup 2015
I am awaiting commentary from Ngam and Henry.
I expect masterly British understatement.

End of over six NZ needed 28 runs.
BM was on 72 off 21 balls.
He had just hit four sixes in a row.
Unlikely. But mathematically possible.

Re: World Cup 2015
I think Danny might say that it was a rather poor effort.
Even Michael Vaughan might struggle to take the positives from this one, although the openers started briskly (a promising sign moving forward, gentlemen) and Joe Root batted well until he ran out of partners (there's hope for the future).
Even ever_hopeful could struggle to keep his chin up after this one, even supported by a tongue working overtime in each cheek in turn.

Positive ...Woakes has an economy rate of 3 and is striking every 8 balls (at the moment)
correction 2.66 and 4,5 balls

I am not arguing that a hundred was mathematically impossible! I'm only saying that it wasn't possible for him to move from 99 to 100+, or from 96 to 100+, or (unless there was serious skulduggery) from 94 to 100+ ... that's the bit of "pinko maths" that embee was alluding to, at the time the posts were under discussion, unless I'm much mistaken.

Ponts, I suspect we are just at cross purposes here simply because things were moving so fast that your post was severely outdated 3 minutes after it hit the board.

"The match can still go ahead with a delayed start if necessary. A match can be successfully completed if each side has minimum of 20 overs which means that it is still possible to achieve a result with a start after the scheduled innings break.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and advise of any changes."
Ticket refunds may apply if the match is abandoned without a result and there are fewer than 25 overs bowled in total.
(Further details on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 refund policy can be found at www.cricketworldcup.com)
Each team will be awarded a point should the match be declared a no result.

The snoozer fans must be pissed off. Paid $60.00 & only got to see less than one innings in total.
Re: World Cup 2015
Well, needless to say, that performance was completely unacceptable. The type of performance where a coach or captain would typically offer his resignation.
A new low in 15 months worth of new lows.

Or the whole f*cking lot of them. I'm not even angry. I'm just amazed that considering all the money, all the coaches, the huge player base, the amount of time they've spent supposedly planning for this World Cup.......that they can actually be this bad. I hope they're all so embarrassed.
This will be the end of Peter Moores for good this time. And Saker. And Morgan.
