Starc has been (repeatedly) the match winner, nearly pulling off that feat even in the game we lost. Smith has been consistently excellent too. Maxwell has been the unexpected batting star, with cameos from Finch, Warner, Watson, Haddin, Faulkner, and Johnson all coming at exactly the right time. Hazlewood has been OK. Clarke has been a passenger. Looking at that team list I cannot believe it has got so far, though I think we were lucky to avoid SA and WI.
It may sound strange given that I did not expect us to make the finals, but now that we are there in the GF I think we can and perhaps should beat the Kiwis. Starc v the Kiwi openers holds the key.

Could be time to break the rules and bet a ODJ. A good match for the dickhead quotient. Though the KIwis may have as many dickheads with access to a telephone and a credit card.

If the final was in Eden Park, you'd have the Kiwis as favourites, but in Melbourne they could find it tough.
To be honest, the New Zealand public deserves a home final more than the Australian public does. For most of Australia's games, opposition support has outnumbered home supporters. I think by and large this World Cup hasn't captured the imagination of the Australian public like it has in New Zealand.
Well someone has to travel, and given the ground capacity of the various venues a no brainer that it will be at the MCG

Re: World Cup 2015 (IV)
viewership for this final is going to be massive 30 million.
quality beats quantity anydays,
up yours to subis.
on a saner note, it would also be nice if semi-finals and finals are not so dependent upon the toss. Why not extend the finals and make it a best of 2, so as to conclusively prove the winner. And don't depend upon toss so much. Let the team batting first in first tie bat second in the second tie. It will take a lot of pressure off the toss result and make the contest more equal.

many of these tickets were bought years in advance. It was done irrespective of who was in finals. I don't really think, anybody is unloading anything.

Fair enough too. NZ have had a dream run playing all their games up to the semi's on their home turf. If they are going to be world champs they need to do it on any ground.

What these two said... it's only right that the largest ground should host the final and NZ do need to do it on someone else's ground, for a change.

I had not thought of that. That's a record few teams could aspire to.
