As I said before the kiwi innings, the team batting second in D and L matches usually wins. After their good start they always looked likely. They kept wickets in hand and with a smaller target and fewer overs you then launch.

The biggest choke was at the SAf selection table. Just WTF were they thinking dropping Abbott for Verny (who broke down again after getting smacked all over the place)??

Harsh on your mob Taips. Â The rain farked them.
Nah it was selection fark ups going back 4 years. That was the time wasted trying to turn McLaren into an allrounder. Philander should never have been recalled to the ODI team, but they needed his "batting" which probably led to his selection, unless there was secret government pressure. That led to the crazy sight of AB bowling in a WC semi.
But hey, I said all of this before the tournament started.

Elliott will dine out on this innings for the rest of his life - and rightly so.

Welll 'The Favourites™' are out, so it's anyone's game. Could be Chokedia, Chokestralia again or it could be Choke Zealand. Regardless, someone's going to be coughing for their lives.
Re: World Cup 2015 (IV)
It WASN'T a choke. Just a scintilla of an edge, a lot of luck, and a scintillating innings or two from the NZ batsmen who rose to the challenge.
It was nice too that Potter had a part to play at the end: and for all his batting limitations, had the intelligence and the nous (and a bit of fortune) to play it well.

I dunno why people would have thought SA were red hot to win this. They got slaughterated by India and already, dare I say it, choked on a low chase against Pakistan, not a team at their peak.

Amla, de Kok and Roussow were very disappointing for the Yarps. ABdV couldn't have done any more for his side. Tahir was good, as was Abbott. The rest, meh.

Yeah, right.
Two things you're forgetting:
1. I'm superhuman.
2. The robot zombie rapists are the ones that will kill me. Probably whilst I'm pinned down, getting pounded with a bore drill-like phallus. Not a nice way to go, but I'm likely to have saved a few women and children, so ultimately it'll be worth it.

Still recovering from that and I didn't even watch it! What a match (by the sound of it )

Yeah, I Sky Go'd on my phone and hid it from the rest of the office - those shrieks and squeals I was making didn't go down a treat.

Great point made on the BBC website:
"Notice there was no sledging, aggro or nastiness? They just got on with it, played cricket & gave us a game to be remembered!"
Can bet your house that this won't be the case in the other semi final.

To bring down the tone a bit, it is reportedly a dust bowl at the SCG for the 2nd semi. What the fark drugs is the Sydney curator taking? Qunt.

Roussow made runs basically every time he batted and usually at a very quick rate. Was slower today as he was consolidating. Their openers were poor but de kock at age 22 will be better for the experience. Tahir was excellent and Abbott was probably their best quick, though Morkel wasn't too shabby. They probably could not get the balance of the team right but today maybe they went for Vernon to bolster the batting so the truncated match hurt this judgement.
NZ seems to lack a bit of depth but somehow they have been getting over the line. Playing at home has helped.
