What a shame to lose Azhar last ball of the day so disappointed.... Sami Aslam deserved a century. Solid day for Pak marred a bit by that silly runout and last ball dismissal. Still Pakistan in Driver's seat....
England will hope get Pakistan out with a lead between 50-70 odd runs and then make 300 in the 2nd innings. That will set a very dicey total for Pakistan in 4th innings..

Looks a decent if slowish effort by the Wackies. Well done to Azhar on his ton.

This morning's session is key, Pakistan could get out of reach if they get through it with the loss of only a couple of wickets. This match is slipping away from England, was some really bad fielding yesterday, on another day we could have had them 5 or 6 down.basit wrote:What a shame to lose Azhar last ball of the day so disappointed.... Excellent fight back by England. Pakistan were not able to press home the advantage. England in much better position now considering they are already in the lead with all 10 wickets in hand and with Paksitan having to bat last....
Finally a good innings from Hales, should be a morale booster for him.

This is turning in to an absolute classic. Fantastic fightback from England after lunch, the game was slipping from their grasp and they nailed the last two sessions and are now on top. How will this match swing next?

If ever one session was going to be crucial it's the first one tomorrow. Win that and the match is there for the taking.

England on top. Pakistan's batsmen have perhaps performed slightly above estimation and their bowlers, often their stronger suit at times have looked ordinary.

Out third ball, just watch.Henry wrote:Cook is timing the ball as well as Ive ever seen him time it.
Next four hours should decide the test, if England are still there at tea then it should be ours for the taking but if Pakistan blow us away this morning and clean up this afternoon some time before tea then I'd fancy them to chase down 170 odd.

If he wasn't timing the thing so f*cking well it would have fallen short of the fielder! 😫

Going a bit pear-shaped this morning, but I reckon anything over 200 will make Pakistan nervous.

This has got draw written all over it, unless England get bowled out.

Vince gone for 42. Another pretty but insubstantial innings.

159 ahead at tea, with six wickets remaining. Unless Jonny B goes ballistic, the lead will be somewhere around the 250 mark by the close. Draw. Draw. Draw.

Of course, I should have written 'if Jonny B AND Moeen go ballistic, we might end up with a lead of about 300!'
England will probably have a slog for five or six overs tomorrow and then declare, leaving Pakistan 80 or so overs to chase 340+

Interesting game tomorrow.
On another note, I was shocked to read that that the Anderson was indulging in a spot of twattery.

This is what you get with Jimmy and, to be honest, I suspect that he is a marked man. Not that I'm excusing abuse directed to umpires or fellow players.

When he is batting well, Moeen is fantastic to watch.
He's at least as good a batsman as Vince, so I don't know why he can't bat at four and then they can play both him AND Rashid as spinners, and still have four quicks. Surely it makes sense!
