Joshing apart, Billings has taken to opening (so far) like a fish to water.
So not Billingsgate - codfish on a slab.
Can Hales be released back to Notts, or is that a premature ejection?

Collectively shat themselves in the end but England's prowess in the game's premier format is not to be questioned. Full of 360 degree batsmen right upto number 11.

England's new age cricketers with their 360 degree game have not stopped moaning over some perceived umpiring error. They get another opportunity tonight to put India's Grampa XI in their place.
PS: Also makes me wish the test didn't have DRS. A 4-0 score line to with the whinge would have been hella funny.

Lardy is really getting carried away. I do not hate any of these people, although I am suspicious about Katich.
Langer was a very good player. He now uses the media to advance his cause as a coach and that of his players. The bnlg tag remains apt. Despite the talent WA has been unsuccessful in Shield and of the Wozzies selected for Tests have proved successful. The persistent selection of Mitch Marsh for limited returns has been inexplicable, other than for the WA influence. We lost the last Ashes because of absurd selections like that of Marsh.
Geoff and Rod Marsh are legends of Oz cricket. However both their reputations have suffered from their recent roles. Daniel's influence on the performances of its players is a bit of a mystery.
To say I hate the players is ludicrous. I do think they are over rated. I do think some have been selected against all the evidence and at the expense of better performed players in other States and at the expense of national results.
I think fans are mystified altho most are used to the selection of over rated dubbers.
I suspect there is a nasty show down brewing with a number of States most unhappy. Victoria is cranky about being directed by CA to select Maxwell. It also is not happy about the lack of relationship between State performance and criteria for national selection. SA players despite better performances than WA get treated poorly. Fergi and Meh got a test each. Tas and Qld both have their own reasons for unhappiness.
Apparently* Hohns has had a real crack at Cameron White, White noted domestic performance was not being used as the primary guide for national selections. Furthermore, some recent national selections were for development purposes This would include M Marsh (many times), Hoss Cartwright, Sam Heazlet, Coulter-Nile, Swepson etc. White makes the point that he thought the Shield and other domestic comps served as the key vehicle for developing players.
Hohns response was not to deal with the issues White raised but to attack his credentials (as a player with a poor international record) to have a view.

If you analyse the Cracka comments they sort of back up what ShyT was saying
He said ShyT was given ample opportunity as a youngster (when he was a pathway/potential player) and failed to make an impression at International level
ShyT is saying he has been having good success lately at domestic level but is being ignored at International level in favour of pathway and potential players
The NSP ignores the successes that Hussey Rogers and Voges made and also ignore the failure of Mitch Marsh

"Personal commentary and sensitivity to worthwhile questioning does nothing to promote the constructive relationship we seek – the dialogue between the players and the administrators must be better than this."

Yep....it is going to get nasty. The Bear is widely respected in and outside Victoria among the players from what I can gather...the past couple of years have seen him play really strong assured cricket.

There was a snippet on cricinfo that mentioned it was the second worst 8 wicket collapse in all international cricket. New Zealand lost 8 wickets for 5 runs at one stage of their test against Australia in 1945/46.
