With an apparent Marsh quota in place and both scions of Geoff manifesting tendencies towards prolonged failure accompanied by frequent bouts of injury, how do we solve this once and for all?
Can we steal back the compromising pictures of Sutherland and the selectors? (clearly supplied by Geoff)
Will Shaun graciously retire from test cricket?
Seriously though Shaun has failed in six of the eight innings this series.
Surely Ussie overlooked because of Shaun's comfort zone being Asian pitches, could not have fared worse!
Why was Mitch recalled after doing precious little since his dumping following the Hobart humping?

I suspect you make Shaun Marsh captain of WA and tell him he needs to make 1000 runs in a Shield season before he's ever considered for Test selection again.

Probably the nub of it really. The guy has average around mid-thirties in first class cricket for his whole career and in his case these stats don't lie when he goes up to the next level.
Shaun the sheep couldn't do worse.

Shaun the sheep would average at least 60 in test cricket.Red wrote:lardbucket wrote:I suspect you make Shaun Marsh captain of WA and tell him he needs to make 1000 runs in a Shield season before he's ever considered for Test selection again.

Re: What do you do with a problem like the Marshes?
Shaun Marsh is now 34, and yet the likes of Mark Waugh and Brendan Julian still refer to him as "promising......has potential". It's hilarious. It really is time to accept that either his inability to consistently churn out runs or his inability to consistently stay fit means a line has to be drawn through his name once and for all. It just wasn't meant to be.
He'll be 41 and still getting picked based on his "potential"....and he'll still be tamely nicking off to second slip third ball.
