Re: Australia v England, 1st Test, Brisbane, 23-27 November, 2017
I have never promoted Reeks, so you can pull that straw man down.
Nor have I promoted Mitch Marsh. Ever.
I still believe Bailey should have gone to India this year - in form, leadership qualities, and horses for courses.
Maxwell is a talent-wasting arrogant tosspot (TWAT) and should be nowhere near the Test side.
Wade is a piece of crap that should be consigned to the sewers of history.

Bailey was tried and failed at Test level. He now clogs the Unsuccessful Tozzie Team where his alleged leadership skills have been to little avail in recent years. I would have thought retirement should have been contemplated a year or two ago.
I have not been an urger for No Show and was as shocked as anyone when he scored a ton v the Bannies. Weed is in poor form and should not be selected. Snivel is in poor form and it seems Seasick Steve has negligible confidence in him.

Making Bancroft the obvious choice.

Suggesting Handscomb as Test keeper is surely just trolling, though.

If we're still desperate for a versatile no6 apparently there's someone called Perry.

Was just about to say the same thing. 213* - third highest score ever in Tests.

Meanwhile, Drunky has been sniffing his greyhound's bumhole
"Australia's national selection panel have foreshadowed they will stick with allrounder Hilton Cartwright in the number six batting berth for the upcoming Magellan Ashes Series against England, former Test captain Ricky Ponting has told cricket.com.au.
Even though Cartwright recorded a pair of ducks in his most recent JLT Sheffield Shield appearance for Western Australia, against a Test-strength New South Wales attack, Ponting believes the selectors have effectively flagged their view that the 25-year-old is the man for the job."

Shut up Ricky, you're drunk.

Seems nobody outside this Socratic marvel rates Fergie a chance in hell....the Age nominated NINE possibilities for the no 6 gig, including Hoss, NoShow, Boof Jr, Holy Moises and Banger, but CF still nowhere to be seen

Neither is Bailey who scored a ton today whereas all other candidates failed. Our selectors are determined to drive us to the bottom of the test rankings.

Aus is lucky to have so many class batsmen vying for one spot.

Aye, otherwise we'd have an incumbent and not 8 pretenders.

Geez I hope the NSP has the balls to reshape the current Aus top 7 based on current form. It would then probably be:
GCS
Little Rhino
Ooze
Tweek
Wank
Little Boof/Fergie
Bangers
The bowlers pick themselves.
9 days to go.

Re: Australia v England, 1st Test, Brisbane, 23-27 November, 2017
My 12: I think 11 positions are now settled, barring late injury, with the XII including Renshaw and Handscomb, and the 12th position (listed as 'another' in the list below) could still be any of the following, depending on what happens in the Shield games today and tomorrow:
one of Wade/Carey/Nevill
OR (more likely)
one of Lehmann, D Smith, Ferguson, M Harris, Mitch or Shaun Marsh, Bailey, Burns, Doolan in declining likelihood. Dubber bias suggests two Smiths will get in but I have a feeling they may choose Mitch Marsh, if only to spite horrie.
LIKELY 12
--------------
Warner
Renshaw (I don't think they'll drop him after 3 bad Shield games)
Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb (is he is any danger? - has done little, but I think he's safe)
another *
Bancroft (a certainty now, I think, and well deserved)
Starc
Cummins
Bird
Lyon
Hazlewood
12th could yet be Renshaw, I wouldn't mind the 4 pacers and Lyon give our lack of all-rounders

OK a bit of a brain fade above
D Smith is of course D Hughes. Same thing. Dubber. Already has his Test cap in a brown paper bag.

I repeat, a Test match is no place to hope that a player finds some form with the bat. Wrench must be jettisoned for either Bancroft (I'd prefer him at 6 or 7) or Harris, to allow him to find his touch again in Shield (ala MtFTB).
If Wrench plays he'll be even more circumspect at the crease than normal as he tries to find the middle of the bat. A supercrab at one end will only place added pressure on the implosive Warner.
The Test XI's biggest mystery is still the no. 6 spot.

I think he'll be chosen "to show faith in a young player who has done no wrong at Test level" and then left out of the 12.
Bancroft is locked in either way, IMHO.
We seem to agree on the 'another' spot. Doolan making a late charge from left field?

Doolan now 200* and continuing.
Maxwell the aspiring Test all-rounder finally brought on to bowl. Surely, surely not this muppet.
