What a pity this has cast a shadow over an otherwise interesting match.

Hope it was mere coincidence that it was Bangers that Jimmeh hit with the faux throw at stumps in the last session yesterday.

Must say I was impressed with Bangers' toughness. He was impassive on being hit, though it was not a fierce throw. Anderson put his his hand up in apology. Bangers eyes barely flickered.

At stumps Bangers would have felt entitled to 'point at the scoreboard', but did not. As gcspoc and Bangers marched off at stumps I noted Malfoy (or similarly tall player) stood in their way. They walked around him without acknowledgment.

This could end up a most unfriendly series.

On the harder pitches, I expect both sets of quicks will deliver a bit of chin music. Both Root and Anderson have already been hit by bouncers.

Nice measured piece here. I think it sees through the idiotic laddish jockery, the media scrum, the usual psycho/PR-opportunism too. Bairstow was daft as a brush. The Aussie press (and squad) seized on it with glee.
