Classic argument between an Indian and myself.......

Indian- Why the hell are we going all the way to South Africa for ONE T20 match??? Is there any explanation for that?

Me- It's all about the money, mate.

Me- Well, if you have a better explanation, i'd like to hear it.

Me: "I suppose you are going to tell me i have a virus"

...yeah, i know it was pointless but it felt good.

Presumably by "explanation" the Indian at the top of the thread meant "moral justification".


There's no moral victory to be had in one small, pointless pyjamafest.

We have a major problem in SA cricket at the moment, the CEO has been suspended for corruption and virtually the entire board has resigned. All the major sponsors have pulled out and I guess money is getting tight.

She left the SABC and joined the board as communications director just before SA IPL. The board got major money from Modi and the IPL. They then gave themselves large bonuses without proper authorisation. When it started coming out they set up an internal probe which cleared them all. The sponsors got antsy. and walked. The minister of sport set up a commission which opened the can of worms. Most fell on their swords, but Majola tried to cling on and has been suspended. There is a good chance criminal charges will be laid.

So the IPL took a shit on South African cricket too? Why isn't that anything like a surprise.

I think IPL is ready to implode.

Hopefully, can't stand that shite taking over every facet of the telly for a whole bloody month.

I've got a feeling this year's IPL will see a huge drop in crowd numbers and TV viewers.

It did last year. Over a quarter apparently. Too much of everything. Only cyclopian arseclowns like The One Nationalist reckon it's a real goer.
