Re: Australia v England, 5xODIs, 14-28 January, 2018
The BBL chase tactic is to get the runs in 19 overs
The Oz Jamodi tactic seems to be to get the runs in the 53rd over

Smith chewed up too many balls.

When are we going to switch to multi-format Ashes in the men’s game?

That's about right.
Stoinis goes after a decent knock.
The difference is that one shite 2nd over where they smoked him for 20.
Woods is an impressive JAMODI bowler. Buttler's knock was immense.
Well done England on the series win.

Didn't Ben Stokes used to be in England's ODI team?

Well, I guess they’ve decided there’s no point flying him out to Australia at this stage.taipan wrote:Didn't Ben Stokes used to be in England's ODI team?

Anyone think Australia can stop a whitewash?

Yeah, I expect England will switch things around a bit now the series is won. Resting Mark Wood before he can injure himself again is the obvious change. Aus will win one of the remaining matches.

Butler receiving a lot of praise, but Woakes was important with the bat too.

Is there a reason that Nicholarse is wearing pink? Just looks a bit odd.

"Butler receiving a lot of praise, but Woakes was important with the bat too." Couple of important wickets too.
Smith was reasonable: "It got given out, so I had to get off the field, wasn't hitting it very well anyway, gave some other guys a chance and they almost got us home."

Woakes was important full stop. It was a tidy spell of bowling to complete an impressive allround performance.

Some Obs
Only Stoinis and the Fink batted at the required run rate.
Seasick does not bat or skipper well in jamodis and should give it away.
Warner and Ima are useless. Warner should be axed.
Nice to see Marsh get his first international wicket of the summer. Cue bnlg to start calling him Oz's version Fat Jack.

You know what you Aussies should really be spitting about ?
We won by just 16 runs ...... 13 of them were wides bowled (we conceded just 2.
Take those 11 extras away, and one more six-hit would have given you the win .....

We have always relied on a fast bowler to take some early poles
Our big three have failed to do that in this series

Not that I particularly GAF but:
- Dwarshuis?
- Ahmed has been the form Aust leggie in the BBL this year
- did they pick the wrong Richardson?
T20 SQUAD: David Warner (c), Aaron Finch (vc), Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Ben Dwarshuis, Travis Head, Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, D'Arcy Short, Billy Stanlake, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa.
