Aye. One side will definately crack under the heat. For some reason, I cannot see a draw here.

There is talk that the one day selection will kill India's teamwork at Adelide, but for me the point of interest will be how Ganguly and Dravid play at Adelide. They are too good as players to let this come in thir ways. Maybe this will work in India's favour. Scoring heavily by both or either of them will be the correct answer to the selectors. They should both actually play better with more determination and slap the selectors with strong performances.
On the other hand should Aus fail to win at Adelide and have to contend with a 2-2 or a 2-1 result, the kids will be tested fully in ODIs. They will have to face Aus backlash and restribution.

Sage comments by Ian Chappell about the importance of swing in test cricket,
Test cricket can be an absorbing contest when bat and ball are evenly matched. And in a game that can be sheep-like in its ability to follow meaningless trends, it's to be hoped the impact of swinging deliveries on recent Test series has been noted. The fate of the Ashes in 2005 turned on England's ability to swing the ball, and last year India turned the tables on Michael Vaughan's side in the same way. Now we've had the result of a wonderful contest at the WACA determined by the swinging ball. It's a timely reminder of the importance of this often undervalued skill.

It looks like India will only make 1 change- Karthik for Jaffer. At Perth, Sehwag showed that he can bowl more than adequate off spin if needed, and therefore Bhajji looks likely to miss out again.
For Australia, Hayden will come back for Rogers, whilst it's a toss up between Brad Hogg and Bryce McGain for the spinners spot. I think Hogg will get another chance.

It's not a toss up at all. McGain wasn't in the squad, and is playing in the Pura Cup match, which started today. Hoggy!!! will play. Tait to carry the drinks.

Honestly, I think Tait should get another chance.
Not at the expense of Hogg though .. no!

Rikki'd (and tidied up the heading - since when has "##Ind Vs Australia, 4th test, Adelaide##" been remotely acceptable? Get a grip.)

A current day rare moment of insight from Chappelli

Because Australia's batsmen go so hard at the ball, they'll always be susceptible to swing. It does make for a fascinating contest when the ball is swinging.

He's improving with the practice he puts in - don't feel sorry for him though - he's well paid.

What's India's first choice attack when Munaf, Sreesanth, Zaheer, Ishant, and RP are all fit?

they would probably rank something like
kumble, zaheer, rp, sreesanth, ishant, munaf with harbhajan playing depending on the pitch
wow! i never thought india would reach a stage where we have to worry about leaving out a fast bowler

So only one member of your first choice pace attack was in the side when you beat Australia?

And I never thought we would reach a stage where we would need to worry about getting our next half decent batsman...

An year ago on C4 I had suggested that BCCI had developed an 80s/90s WI type pace attack, everyone started laughing at me.

Munaf would have ranked above Ishant before the Perth test I'd think.

It couldn't be less like an 80's/90's Windies attack - only a clueless tw@t who walks around being a f'kin clueless tw@t would say that.
But, they all look pretty useful to me. All with defects, but stacks to work on.
In essence, there's no reason why India shouldn't have shedloads - that MRF academy is quality and there's an utter rake of Indians playing cricket.
