Harris has been knocking the door down, so deserves a chance. Wrench has been poor this season. The Marsh brothers must be considered lucky.

The talk of whether Harris should open with Fink is ridiculous. It should be the other way around.
E-Coli may top 700 in the coming 4 Test series.

I don't know about lucky but the Marsh boys are certainly blessed. Mind you not many are knocking down the door.

Bog is a less than average batsman. Mere is the worst top order batsman in the history of Test Cricket. Cue roads.

Aaron Rodgers should put in a transfer request... he’s wasting what’s left of his prime years.
Still, remarkable as his stats are (just two pick sixes in over a decade, etc...) and the fact he can make throws no other QB can, he just doesn’t quite have that relentless winning mentality of Brady, who wouldn’t allow a slide to 4-6-1 even if he had a team of high school players in front of him.

Apparently* the Packers have spent less in the free agency market than any other team over the last few years.
I reckon McCarthy is gone.

On a scale of 0-10 (0 = zero chance; 10 = we'll walk it, with our eyes closed and one hand tied behind our backs), how confident are people here of their team's / country's winning this series?

I think it will be closer than expected. Aus still have a decent attack and the Indian batting still hides behind Kohli to a certain extent.
However for once the Indians appear to have a reasonable seam attack to throw at the brittle Aus batting. Maybe the best result for Aus is to get thumped in the first test and jettison some of the deadweight.

Sad but true. One superbowl and an uberqunt like Manning has two.

Not sure which Manning you’re referring to, but they both have two... while Rodgers sits alongside legends like Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles and Joe Flacco with one ring. And Drew Brees and Brett Favre, I guess... and one ahead of Dan Marino. So yeah, it’s not everything, but Brady has raised the bar (which Montana set pretty high before him) in terms of QBs being judged on post-season.Bradman wrote:beamer wrote:Aaron Rodgers should put in a transfer request... he’s wasting what’s left of his prime years.

Rodgers does appear to be something of a complex character, the fact he’s not on speaking terms with his family probably says a lot, although there’s usually blame on both sides in such situations.
Where’s the NFL thread by the way?

And as for Packers and free agency, hasn’t it always been their strategy to build through the draft because they will be paying a premium on salaries to get veterans to move to a small city in the freezing north?

I tend to agree.
Can't see the likes of Koo just nodding and saying "well played, sir".

So, not much bullishness on the Aussie side of this Forum, so far at least.
Furri, Trike, are you around? Any thoughts on how it might go?

Chances of England winning it? Well, if we can get a series whitewash in Asia, anything’s possible, even us winning an Australia v India series... then we’ll take on the Boat Race and Grand NationalPeterCS wrote:On a scale of 0-10 (0 = zero chance; 10 = we'll walk it, with our eyes closed and one hand tied behind our backs), how confident are people here of their team's / country's winning this series?

Indeed, sledging is part and parcel of cricket and quite frankly I take a lot more joy in between Australia when they are being absolute qunts.taipan wrote:Red wrote:https://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/not-going-to-win-s-t-clarke-slams-australia-s-nice-guy-attitude-20181127-p50ir8.html

But no one is saying don't sledge, would just rather the opposition didn't, you know, cheat.

Sledging is one thing, but if you take it to extremes you should expect retaliation, whether that is in kind with personal abuse, or with intimidatory bowling, beamers and a bit of pushing and shoving, or perhaps the ultimate destination, a punch-up on an international cricket field.

This why gcspoc should have been rubbed out when he had to be restrained in the players tunnel
