Dimuth Karunaratne’s match aggregate: 218.
SA team’s match aggregate: 199.
Think that sums up the first test. Can't see this being that much different.

Oh, & BTW, The Prince's 9-129 is not likely to be topped by a visiting or home spinner in Lanka any time soon.
Well done him. Pity it might be part of a heavy loss.
SAf 3-19 at Lunch.

It's an understatement to assert that SA cannot play spin.

WTF were SAf doing NOT playing a 2nd spinner???
Shirley Shamsi was a better bet than Ngidi on a dead spinning deck?

Even the Windies in their heyday had problems facing reality when it came to spinning decks.

Skully, when was the last time in under 40 overs, a blokes half from one end and seven other "bowlers' shared the load from the other end?

Guess in the final analysis, they wanted to go with their strengths and Shamsi is not really up to test cricket.
Losing the toss again probably exacerbates their situation but the reality is that they are not equipped for these conditions.

I wonder what sort of buffer the Lankans want and/or will give themselves.
They currently (early on Day 3) lead by 377. Maybe 500??

So it's make 490 or survive 2.5 days for SAf.
A 350 run loss seems the most likely outcome.
