England wrap up the dead rubber.
Congrats to the Ganjas on their 2-1 series victory.

Shannon Gabriel has been charged by the ICC under Article 2.13 of its Code of Conduct, which covers “personal abuse” and any language “of a personal, insulting, obscene and/or offensive nature” over something he said to Root.

A slur on gay people it seems. The Caribbean is one of the last bastions of homophobia. Interesting to see how this plays out

Haven't a couple of Windies rumored revivals through the last 25 years already foundered at this point? As in, they win a couple of matches, or at least perform less shithousely than usual in a couple of matches, and then try and enforce their 'strut around and gob off like they're Sir Viv and Curtley' options?

Yeah, I did think about that aspect, seems like it’s still more ingrained in that region, both culturally and perhaps legally? But they can’t use individual cultures as a defence on this if it’s not the message they want to send out as a global sport.horace wrote:Big Dog wrote:Shannon Gabriel has been charged by the ICC under Article 2.13 of its Code of Conduct, which covers “personal abuse” and any language “of a personal, insulting, obscene and/or offensive nature” over something he said to Root.

Well the Caribbean might be a player in that respect but it's a drop in the erm ocean compared to the billion-ish people from the religion of ****peace**** who have been raised to believe that all gays need to be killed and/or actively dis-encouraged.
Just watching the highlights of day 4 in Houston Texas after a long but productive day at work.

Trust Nick Griffin here to bring Islam into it
Anyway, just looking at the series stats... only Stokes averaged above 30 with the bat for England! Remember when we were criticising the likes of Vaughan, Strauss, Bell etc. for just about keeping their averages above 40?

Aye beams. The upcoming Ashes looks like being a real crap-off between our respective top 7s.
We can only hope that Smith fires and Root does not.
