No doubt Steyn is a very good bowler.

But

Is he fit to be mentioned in the same paragraph as the magnificent Agit Aquacker, the one true giant of 21stC cricket (nb I Ronald Bell is the one true pixie belfard)?

Sadly Oz has little to offer by way of modern day paragons, beyond a sheet of used sandpaper. The closest we can offer by way of legend is the ever quivering monstrous schoolgirl bottom lip of Shane Watson

I get the tongue in cheek angle of this thread, but here is a shout out for Steyn who without injury would have been in the top very few fast bowlers of modern times in my view.

He’s up there by any measure. Fourth highest Test wicket taker among seam bowlers, second highest among genuinely fast bowlers, and only Curtly and Chuck above him on the all-time wickets list have better averages.

He was into his 30s before injuries really started to disrupt things for him, so I don’t think that really tarnishes his legacy.

Stain is an ATG.
