In my formative cricket days I borrowed a 1968 Wisden from the local library countless times. Because Sobers was at Nottinghamshire, that County and its scorecards became a favourite of mine. Brian Bolus' name became very familiar to me.
I think that Wisden experience was the foundation of my fascination with cricket stats.
