It's an almost Ruby-Princess-esque debacle that allowed untrained security guards oversee quarantine hotels and become superspreaders after mixing with (and even bonking!!) those they should have been isolating.

So much money on consultants to manage this and they not only missed the mark, they were that wide of it they inflicted collateral damage. This has to go down as the biggest farkup since federation, and let's face it we've had some rippers.

In other news, DFAT is warning Aus folk not to travel to China due to the risk of being detained for no reason (other than being Aussie). What a bloody minded Govt the commies are.

As likely as the US, England and Oz paying reparations for the illegal invasion of Iraq.

I know Horace that it is unlikely but China in not heeding the warning about their wet markets and letting infected travellers fly to other countries before informing the world (remember the whistle-blower doctor was condemned) has created untold damage to the world economy, mass deaths and total disruption to the social tapestry of life. Think of all the intangibles too such as the mental health fallout.

Sure.

Wet Markets are common throughout Africa and Asia (inc China) and have existed for centuries and are part of traditional practice. Of course it is shytie. China was responsible in locking down Wuhan and subsequent outbreaks. Sure errors were made. I expect they will learn from all that. No doubt there will be a strict stomping down on current outbreaks there. The CCCP will be accused of authoritarianism. Big deal.

To their credit China does not invade or drop nukes on other countries. I am no fan of their State Capitalist Roader positions and I lament their gutlessness that led to the dropping of the One Child Policy.

For me I also support the re-education of Chinese Muzzies. Hopefully rationality prevails and some better joint can emerge from this rotten era for human beings.

In another horrendous fark up, a plane load of Vile Vomits was allowed to disembark last night at Sydney airport without being tested or quarantining. Something about NSW Health teams being too busy. FFS and FMD!!!
