apt.
How are humans capable of appreciating and creating beauty so capable of things like the Claremont Monster?
Sleepless this morning I read up about Klaus (the Louse) Kinski, the infamous German actor who appeared in three or four Herzog movies.
I had remembered the old film Paris Texas and the massive crush I had on one of his daughters. I happened on the story of my crush's older half sister who was abused by her father from age 5 onwards. I will never watch another Klaus Kinski movie again.
If my machine allows here is an image of Pola Kinski, the abused daughter.

Re: Bradman's commissioned "GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE!" thread
Thread still open for ummm, upbeat contributions ...
(re: Kinski.
Even if you didn't see the Nosferatu remake, there was something demonic, mightily possessed & possessive in much of his acting that
a) lent it immense (scary) immediacy, exaggerated vitality & impact, and
b) made you wonder if not only his characters were so "driven" ...
Which only brings home again, yet again, to anyone still not getting it, that the greatest artists, leading sportspeople, politicians (*cough*) - or indeed any others of high profile - may not necessarily be the best role models in real life, or admirable human beings in their interactions & dealings with others. They may well be - though by no means all - relentless, reckless, wrecks. To amend the Brecht Galileo Galilei quote: "Unfortunate the fans that have a need of heroes.")
