Anyone seen Parasite? Is it worthy of all the Hollywood hoopla it received?

I'm gonna see if Bob* can get me a copy, so I can make that judgment.

Went and watched it. It's good, bit ****** up.

Certainly far better than Black bloody Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody from last year imo.

Watched Jo Jo Rabbit yesterday. Thats one strange movie but worth a look.

Parasite was ok but an Oscar winner - hmm

Just watched Apocalypse Now for the umpteenth time. I forgot much it had been filmed in the Phillipines.

While on screen for only a short time the brooding presence of Orson Welles dominates the film.

I watched again it recently myself. Hadn’t realised that a 14 year old Laurence Fishburn was in it.

It's a good time to watch old movies, and get those DVDs out.

Mrs L and I will be re-watching the complete Foyle's War and Black Books series in order to avoid the prevailing COVID-19 news saturation. Killing Eve will get another run, too.

Especially with no Shetland, Vera, Endeavour, or even Doc Martin ... there's nothing on FTA.

Yep all those boxed sets you get given over the years and weren't interested in are going to get a work out.

I'm getting close to having to watch pride and prejudice. Got the first season of that bodice ripper set on the Cornish coast a couple of hundred years ago somewhere. Found a boxed set of "The Secret Army" I've never opened as well. Anything but P&P.

Watching the Invisible Man tonight.

We watched 'Tracks' on SBS last night; never saw it at the time. Fantastic movie / documentary, and a truly hypnotic performance from Mia Wasikowska.

Yep it is a terrific film.

What's the gist?

Just back in from the Black Panther sequel.

Visually spectacular but pretty long at 160 mins. My friends (fellow watchers) hadn't seen the original, so there were a few moments that didn't make much sense to them.

Martin Freeman's (CIA Agent Everett Ross), Winston Duke's (Jabari tribe leader M'buku) and Michael B Jordan's (Erik Killmonger, King T'Chaka's murderous cousin) involvement wasn't clear to them, nor was the importance of the meteor delivered vibranium.

A decent watch, that has clearly been set up for a 3rd Black Panther movie.
