And the NSP persisted with a grossly out of form Fink at the top of the order for Aus in the short form, while Smudge was considered not good enough for the Aus T20 squad.
Fark the NSP.

Re: Embee's Tower of BaBeL
I know you dont follow T20 but
Smith was in the squad but not the XI
Smith was too considered slow (and got dropped by his IPL team for slow scoring)
He has had a philosophy change (which the BBL bowlers gave paid for)
The NSP had way too many bad plans at the T20 Gilly and not picking Smith was way down the list

Meh, a slow Smudge was still better than the average 0.00 Fink.

Re: Embee's Tower of BaBeL
CA ****** themselves in the arse with the leadership ban on smith and warner
dropping finch would have meant putting smith as captain who was also struggling in T20
Warner would have been the best option ...but was excluded ...which left Wade ...or Mitch Marsh (sorry Horrie) ...or Maxwell
so they stuck with Finch (one of the many bad plans)

Speaking of NoShow ... he's been getting write-ups in the rags about his struggles with deep depression, which apparently* largely originated because of the way he was perceived as a selfish dickhead of a cricketer.
And Mitch Marsh famously said "everyone in Australia hates me".
Do these blokes actually read what's said about them on social media ... or follow this and other cricket forums??

More fool them.
Fortch I am of an old enough generation not to suffer SM addiction.
Yes, yes, I get the irony of that statement, given my posting numbers here.
But I would argue that it's not phone based and I'm certainly not on here every minute of the day.

just depends whether they have the alerts/vanity search setup to get notifications every time, to show how deep down the rabbit hole they want to go.

Re: Embee's Tower of BaBeL
Not Babel but close enough - still shit cricket - LOL at the widget on the side today showing one of the shitty money-grubbing IPL sides was bowled out for 59, and LOL @ the IPL generally. When Maxwell is a marquee player you know it's shit cricket. Perhaps the BCCI could focus on something a bit more important ... like getting the World Cup itinerary sorted.

Lol at Lardy. IPL - bread and circuses without the bread.
India frankly scares the crap out of me. Now the most populous country on the planet, run by a religious crackpot and a massive investor in military equipment

Re: Embee's Tower of BaBeL
IDRGAF about this (having not watched a single ball of any match this season) but a Spiv team made the Final so I gave it a cursory look.
The standout for me is continued theme of "what an absolute shit player of spin" Reeks is.
I remember seeing him play for Aus in Sri Lanka in the mid 2010s, and I was so overwhelmed at what a comprehensive NFI player of spin he was, that I dubbed him the worst player to ever represent Australia. He was a rabbit in the spotlight to Herath.
Watching him v Schwepps and Koonerman tonight, my opinion hasn't changed.

Did the Wozzies win?
Lol… no..
The Brisbane team won.
Had a look at the scorecard… as well as Reeks ffs, the Dubbers also had Abbott (yet another ordinary over rated Spiv player) the dickhead SOK and some bloke from Bowral with the most unfortunate name of Hayden Kerr - wtf were his parents thinking?
