Actually got to see the first bit of the promo shit due to waiting for my afternoon bogan fix come on the same channel and forgetting daylight savings. Thought it was appropriate they got a bunch of ten year olds to explain the new rules.

Did not watch the game but had a look at the scoreboard this morning. When the likes of hacks like Ingram score runs and Botha get a game you know the standard is just above beach cricket.

Aye.
At 1-118 at the 13 & a 1/2 over mark, the Spivs should've shit it in.
6 overs to get 61 with 9 wkts in the shed should've been a doddle.

lol but sob really.
I see Edwards played or at least scored well. A few seasons ago, he Sangha and D Hughes looked to be really talented batsmen. Somehow they have fallen off the first class map, tho Hughes still gets a game. Do you or jgk have a view on these blokes? Do they have a red ball future?

... and surely Tas have some kids who should be played ahead of Ingram and Botha. Big Dog - thoughts?

These are commercial franchises so blooding young kids is not an importance. Canes are still missing a few key players. Paine, Wade & McDermott are on national duties while Lamichhane , Dawid Malan &, Keemo Paul won't be available until later in the comp.

Still I guess it is better to play ancient 2 bit yarps than youngsters, whose technique gets ruined by T20.
One of the Melbourne teams will play Berserk (Fraser-McGurk) who is 18 and very talented. It is likely this kid will be ruined.

Fair enough. Thought Sangha started his FC career like an assured player despite being quite young. He seems to have gone backwards. Maybe Hughes, like Monty, has bursts of very good form and then big periods when he struggles. FWIW I have not given up on Wrench, who at least possesses a good technique.

horrie
you whinged when the scorchers were only playing local talent ...and winning titles
there is now a lot of wozzies talent spread throughout most teams ...and the scorchers are weaker for it
(3 played last night...1 got a golden duck ...another should have and the other was MotM )

Years ago my young friend.
fwiw I think WA did well by not over exposing Green to to T20 and Puck did the right thing by turning down a contract at some stage.
I really don't like v young talented players like Fraser-McGurk being channeled into T20.
If T20 is to be viable as a product (ratings were very poor last night) and development of young red ball talent are important then I think consideration of the Franchises is required. I would jettison the two teams for Sydney and Melbourne as a starter. This would help improve quality spread.

Re: Embee's Tower of BaBeL
Green didnt get put into BBL because he started off as a bowler and he was behind a fair queue at the scorchers
and then he injured his back
when they worked out he could bat he was injured again and couldnt bowl
fate rather than good management has meant he avoided slection

Oh FFS Mitch the Hollowman is playing T20
If he makes a score and jags a couple of wickets wtf will happen?.
Could both the dropkick Marsh banes of hell get a crack in the First Test.
The bnlg will be oozing from all orifices.

Heat chasing 151 turn down 3 straight singles in the last over then hit a 4 off the last to lose by 2 runs. WTF?

SEN has been bleating about the Cooper gunning, as if the World had imploded.
Some of the Numpties on that station want Tests pushed out of the holiday period, except for Boxing Day.
