West Indies v South Africa, 1st Test, Gros Islet, 10-14 June, 2021
Just discovered there’s another Test started today.
Nokia has WI on the ropes already at 48-4.
Thought Kevin Pietersen was playing for the Yarps for a moment when I saw the teamsheet (he’d be re-qualified by now if he un-retired!)

WI bundled out for 97, then have SA 0-1.

Geez, how shit are the Ganjas??
No wonder half the Aus ODI side doesn't want to tour shortly. The once great WI side is now just a minnow afterthought.
So Nortje did the early damage to allow Ngidi to smash through the tail for a michelle.

The Yarp batting line-up doesn’t exactly look imposing. It’s saying something when losing Bavuma weakens your side... this is certainly not the team of Smith, Gibbs, Kallis, Amla, AB and, er, Dippenaar (did they all play together?)
Still, they’re not alone in that, and when you have an attack that can roll teams over for double figure scores it probably doesn’t matter that much.

Jayden Seales - 19 yo fast medium bowler has played 1 first class match taking 1/76. Did a little better in 3 List A & 6 T20s.
At the moment he has 3/45 so it seems an inspired selection.
I think he might have impressed in the U19 World Cup last year.

WI make a concussion sub but it’s during the SA innings. So we still don’t get to see the first run scored by a number 12 batsman in a Test.

So a big ton to Quint the Kock puts the Ganjas to the sword.
At 4-82 in I2, it looks like an innings loss coming up for WI.

It’s serving its five-year qualification period for England.Fred Nerk wrote:And most likely the stick wants out.....
