Yeah, don’t quite get that, unless the Cowards’ no-result somehow trumps the Squib’s tie? scratch

Unlike the official site, Cricinfo has the Cowards’ NRR as +0.061.

Well, Leicestershite have been worse in recent years… but in both cases, small clubs in terms of ground/resources, who tend to have their better talent picked off by neighbouring Notts. Though Leics have often found their niche by focusing on the T20.

Yorkshire might be selling Headingley to Mike Ashley (the man who ran Newcastle United into the ground for over a decade), or alternatively the whole club to the Rajasthan Royals.

Surely just going into administration and starting again is better, in either case?

Cook set to fully retire at the end of the season, reports suggest. Media work and farming his destination…

Yikes…that is unthinkable.

Hope it does not happen.

Surrey retain the County Championship, first team to do so for close to a decade.

Matches are still going, as confirmation of the title was on bonus point technicalities… they wrap up today, with some promotion/relegation issues still to be decided. But yeah, as usual just manage to avoid running into October!

Surrey win the CC again, despite losing in the last to Hants. Yorks avoid the wooden spoon despite
their draconian 48 pts reduction, by pulling off a very bazball win against Worcs who were already
promoted.

Surely with 800+ runs at 40, and 49 wkts, way more than any other england spinner, dawson
deserves a test recall after xmas, just in case leach hasnt recovered? I expect not, prob
they will prefer leach if he is fit, Jacks [10 at 33 in the CC] and ahmed [8 at 66].

Dawson should play whatever T20 pays him best after England called up a mediocre retired player like Moeen Ali ahead of him for the home Ashes while turning to him for the toiling India tour.
