Same name, different mob
Inspired by the Smith-off in the Test Milestones thread:
There have been Taylor's representing six Test countries: Bob for England, Mark or Peter for Australia, Bruce for NZ, Jerome for the Windies, Herbie for SA and Brendan for the Zimbos
I would be very surprised if the tally of six different teams was exceeded (although Inshan/Intiaz (WI) and Moeen (Eng) plus Ali's from all five Asian teams would make seven).
(Among the phonebook-stuffing names already ruled out: I can't recall a Wilson playing for the Windies, or a Williams for England)

Khans have represented Pakistan, India, England and Afghanistan at least… looked at Patel as well but seemingly only three countries (India, England and NZ).

England, Australia, West Indies, South Africa and Zimbabwe have fielded a Johnson (but not yet New Zealand or Ireland).

Lots of brown cricketers but not many Brown reps beyond Australia, England, Windies. Jones and Thomas similarly under-represented. Keith (Colin) Geoff and David Miller ... any more? The occupation-based names seem most likely to cross heritages.

The Nottingham Forest one (Brennan’s dad) or the Liverpool one?WideWally wrote:Norfolk Ian Goode wrote:England, Australia, West Indies, South Africa and Zimbabwe have fielded a Johnson (but not yet New Zealand or Ireland).

We do have six for Johnson, then, tying the clubhouse lead (as Dustin or Zach of that name may say…) Incidentally is it also the only surname to be shared by a US President and UK PM?

Basil and Mark (and others from the same countries)
But I thiught the challenge was to find 5 6, from different countries?

That was a reply to "Incidentally is it also the only surname to be shared by a US President and UK PM?"
