AFL 2024
It’s been a great start to the season.
Richmond an Collingwood - innovative teams both, and almost equally loved - are the first two teams to be sitting at two losses after Round 1.
Sydney looking very useful this year. GWS too. Imagine the howls from Melbourne if it’s an all-Sydney GF …
Carlton seem to be back with no obvious weaknesses … Fred, could be your year.
Is it too early to say that Melbourne’s Premiership window is already closed?
Lots of experts predicting, pre-season, that Collingwood will again win the flag, Adelaide will be the big upwardly mobile team, Port and the Suns will contest deep into finals. the Hawks will win the spoon, my Cats won’t finish above 13th, Saints and Dogs alongside North, Bombers and West Coast as also rans.
My early (Round 1) prediction for the 8: Sydney GWS Brisbane Port Carlton Adelaide Suns and Collingwood … although I still hope my Cats can squeeze in there somehow.

Re: AFL 2024
Yes Collingwood were bloody awful last night but the 'over-celebrated' trope is still self-righteous PF key bullshit. A' Collimgwood win win last night would have had the considerable consolation of shutting down that SEN/SBM mass-debate for maybe another 50 weeks.
Carlton will do well to get within.a week of last year's finish if they can't get Walsh on the park at least 18-20 times, and that's no gimme. Weeters and Martin should be back for Good Friday after next week's bye.

One round in and both last years grand finalists have already lost twice....as John Lennon sang, strange days indeed.

Not yet.
I’ll be supporting them though, against all teams bar the Cats.

we were expected to be 0-5. living up to expectations. going to be another "beat WC, beat North" year.

Re: AFL 2024
Not many decent teams this year but AFL is happy, it wants everything equal and bland. Can't see their procrustean tactics for getting what they want changing anytime soon.

Brisbane - preseason favourites - looked pretty good in last night’s triumph over Melbourne. Perhaps Melbourne really are on the slide.

Saint hero of the bogan masses Carl Ditterich up to his headband in doodoo over historical sexual abuse - 3 charges all involving the same individual from 1985, five years after he left the VFL.

the way we're playing I'm not even sure we can beat North next week; or even West Coast.
