New Zealand v England, 4th ODI, Napier, 20th Feb
One of those weird day/day games (remember them?)

KP's got to get a score eventually...but so does Jamie 'I've got a shiny new bat' How.
Whatever happens I'm sure it's going to be uniquely unsatisfying.

Luke "Sussex Bummer Boy" Wright somehow retains his place despite being crap with bat and ball.

Holy crap, this game is today?
What's with all these shitty countries that can't even keep up with the date. It's the 19th, people.
England going in without a spinner again - given what a successful ploy that was in the last game as their one-dimensional back-up bowlers got a spanking...

Ali Cook with his usual S/R of 14.
That's it lad, make them pay in the power plays.
And dropped. Good tactic by New Zealand - keep him in where he can do less damage.

Jeez, Cookie is all kind of crap to Martin bowling around the wicket - not a good sign for the tests is it?

He didn't. It's just that fast bowling stocks have fallen so low these days that anyone who can hit the cut strip without bursting into tears and yearning for home/an indefinite break from all of the stress seems half decent.

England R/R of 4.40 for the first power play.
They just don't get it, do they?

They're actually creaming themselves thinking the boys are dun good.
It's like attack of the baldies on the England bench FFS

Mustard's actually doing quite well, here. Outscoring Cook by about three to one.

Why , with England 75-0 off 13 do I have absolutely zilcho confidence in their ability here?

Because you've lived through more than your fair share of 85-0 to 163 a/o England collapses.
We all have. And we're emotionally scarred for life as a result.

Phil Mustard's going to get the Test keeper's gig, I just know it...
