has mumu had it??? Empty has mumu had it???

Post by horace Wed 27 Feb 2008, 00:34

the little guy has had a terrible tour of Aust both in the tests and tri series...while he has rarely played well in Australia, his total ineffectiveness this time calls into question his future...

do people think he is carrying an injury?

do people think he will improve again when playing against the standard fare of minnows - zimmers, poms and bangles- or are his problems more career threatening?

He's not getting any younger, and that elbow joint must be wearing out with all the flexing it does.

I'm sure he'll be around for a few more years, though.

He already played us minnows. He faired pretty well, statistically. But watching the three matches, he fluked quite a few wickets which cost us dearly. We played him timidly and with no conviction, another team with different intent may well have damaged him a lot more. To be honest though, he's still at least very good.

he's definitely nearing the end. with warnie gone and kumble about to join him, it could be the start of a barren era for spin....like the 80s. some good pace prospects though....like the 80s.

Jayawardene said at the lunch I went to that he believes MuMu will finish with about 850 Test wickets ....so he has a few more Test against the minnows yet

Well, his wife's given birth, so one must assume he's had 'it' at least once . . .

Bah, Chuck has at least 3 years left in him. With plenty of minnows no doubt being served up, ET's ugly little brother is sure to pass 900 Test wickets and more than likely crack the grand. He goes tripe in Aus, but he won't tour here again, so problem solved.

He's always been tripe in Aus.

But he's great against Bangadesh and Zimbabwe.

And does OK against most other teams.

And OK at home.
