Eliot Spitzer is, well, ***ked

He hasn't even denied it apparently, only expressed regret at not living up to his family's expectations. Well and truly fcuked.

Round here, it would be considered a recommendation. Our wannabe president fathered his eighteenth illegitimate child recently, got charged with rape last year and is facing huge corruption charges, but the electorate love him.

Another of Hillary's "super" delegates. Apparently he was caught out haggling over the price, managing to get a reduction from $5500 per hour to $4300 per hour. Doesn't say how many hours he wanted though. Not so much the the audacity of hope, more hopeful (and successful) audacity. Is this an example of the Democrats' fiscal conservatism, though? Hope he didn't give his list of 'phone numbers to Bill.

This comes on top of the IRS announcing an investigation into Obama's church and Al Sharpton threatening to take the DNC to court if they reinstate the Florida primary (a case of "let no vote count" - a bit of a turnaround from the Dems' attitude to Florida in 2000). McCain might as well put his feet up for the next 8 months as it seems that, as usual (and in accord with their performances in 1968 and 1988), the Democrats seem determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Repubs are going to need more than this for their candidate to get elected.

McCain is running against either a black or a woman - he's a shoe-in on those grounds alone.

At the risk of being accused of sexism and racism (whicjh I already have been anyway) I have to agree with Mynah. In the latest primary in Mississippi 90% of blacks voted for Obama 70% of whites voted for Hillary. 40% of each side's supporters also state that they would be unwilling to support the other candidate if theirs lost the nomination. On these grounds alone the prospects for the Dems in November are problematic to say the least.

On top of all this the resignation of Eliot Spitzer as Governor of New York loses Hillary another superdelegate as Paterson, his replacement, also a Hillary supporter despite being black, was already a superdelegate and the Lieutenant-Governor is not replaced until the next state election in 2010 (the next-in-line to Paterson is a Republican). It never rains but it pours, it seems, for the poor Dems. This is surely their worst campaign since 1968. What I want to know, though, is who does Kristen support?

And Spitzer resigns.

I don't approve of infidelity, of course, and I could understand if this ended in divorce, but this doesn't seem all _that_ big a deal to me, not worth resigning over.
