Re: The EPL thread (III)
title run in (home games in CAPS):
arsenal:
BORO
chelsea
bolton
LIVERPOOL
man utd
READING
derby
EVERTON
sunderland
after boro (though they are the only side to beat us this season), the next 4 fixtures are toughies - bolton away always been our bogey fixture. the last 4 games look easy on paper but 2 of those teams will be fighting relegation and one pushing for 4th spot. if we can get through the next 5 games with 10 points, we should still be in the hunt.
man utd
derby
BOLTON
LIVERPOOL
VILLA
boro
ARSENAL
blackburn
chelsea
WEST HAM
wigan
4 tough games in liverpool (though they always beat the pool), arsenal, blackburn and chelsea but they couldve built a useful lead by the time they play us.
chelsea
DERBY
sunderland
spurs
ARSENAL
BORO
man city
WIGAN
everton
MAN UTD
newcastle
BOLTON
arguably the easiest run in fixtures, could be dark horses. if they win their 2 in hand they are only 2 pts behind arsenal. spurs will be tricky but they'd be up for revenge and then they have home advantage against us and man utd.

Re: The EPL thread (III)
the pitch was a joke but we looked clueless in the final 3rd. no invention. i dont think it was a champions league hangover but inexperience of being involved in a title race which is starting to show up. i fear this is going to be like the 2002/3 season when we had a sizeable lead and were leading throughout the season only to chuck it away in the last couple of months. man utd are notoriously good finishers.

The top three all have to play Derby. Major banana skin there.

Re: The EPL thread (III)
Surprisingly enough Wigan actually gave Arsenal a game and wondered out of their own half a few times, playing in the Premier League is a completely different ball game than the CL, Arse had much less time on the ball than Tuesday and were forced to rush their passes.
They are playing their bogey team next week Boro and after that Chelsea, won't be surpised if they drop another 3-5 points, while we have Derby and Bolton next up, if we can get a 4+ point lead before we meet Arsenal and beat them i think we will win the league, still a long way to go though and you can see Chelsea sneaking up and they still have to play United and the Arse at home, so they are in with a shout to finish 2nd or even win it.

Re: The EPL thread (III)
They only really need a goal to wrap this tie up, so the odds are heavily weighted in Liverpool's favour.
Inter didn't impress me at all in the first leg - but they must have something about them if they're walking towards retaining the Serie A title.
Could be interesting...

Re: The EPL thread (III)
So far, Liverpool look rubbish - and Inter have brought their own ref.
Which is only fair as Liverpool had their own ref for the first leg...

Coming up to half-time 0-0 - poor quality game.
Babel and Kuyt are competing to see who can be the biggest pile of shite.

Overall i'd say Inter looking dangerous for the first 15 before it became even stevens.
Liverpool have had 3 half chances which might have become full chances had they not been handicapping themselves by playing the above two.

Re: The EPL thread (III)
Liverpool are looking a bit dodgy, Inter have been a bit unlucky, you get the feeling if Inter score they will get another, just a matter of hanging on.
Dello, Kuyt is sh!te but lay of Babel the guy has potential give him a year or two.

I thought Dutch players were supposed to have brilliant touch and technique?
Those two obviously slipped through the net. A combined total of over £20 million - it's ironic for Scousers to get robbed blind...

Watching Inter Milan always starts a thinking process that begins with "Diego Simeone" and ends with me bursting into tears and throwing things across the room.

His potential isn't worth shit tonight.
Re: The EPL thread (III)
Don't see anything wrong with his ball control or dribbling and he has pace, just needs to work on his passing/shooting

29 minutes left. 4 goals needed. 10 men to do it with.
Sounds like a job for Frank Lampard.

Magnificent finish from Torres. He plays a lot, he scores a lot. It's not rocket science Mr Benitez.

No, but scientists have noticed some interesting phenomena around Frank Lampard. His sexual healing factor often increases in champions league games. He's definitely the man for the job.

Re: The EPL thread (III)
FWIW, Babel can only run and shoot and his touch is so poor I've seen lepers with nicer touch. Kuyt has got touch but has got about as much pace as Harmison had in the first test. If they were to have sex and make a baby, that offspring would hopefully be a decent player. Ugly. But decent.
And Whoohoo, quarter finals here 'we' come.

Torres, Gerrard, Mascherano
Liverpool don't do badly in the CL for having just 3 world class players do they?

Well the ref killed that game off with that sending off, just when it was getting interesting, despite that Inter only have themselves to blame, they had 5/6 very good chances but failed to score from even one of them while Torres had one and put it away.

So what do we reckon to the draw then?
Bound to be at least one all prem QF. But please not another Chelski/Liverpool snorefest...
