The ICC will probably still allocate that junior umpire to their matches, though.

It is a sensible move I suppose. He is a good umpire, no doubt. But there is also no doubt that he has a problem with Pakistan team.
Which junior umpire?

Interesting what Colly said:
Seems to refute some of those accusations of being bad with players.
Meanwhile, England's Paul Collingwood welcomed the return of Hair.
The one-day captain said: "The times Darrell has umpired us I think he has done a very good job.
"He's good to talk to on the pitch, he's very good with the player and gets the majority of the decisions right."
Seems to refute some of those accusations of being bad with players.

Quite a few forummers on here and some of the Pakistani players. Some Indian and Sri Lankan players too if I remember.

Yes I know. In same way, Mark Benson will keep umpiring in India matches and Steve Bucknor will be prohibited!

So what we're saying is teams can now dictate to who does and does not umpire their matches?

Uhhhh are you theek as sheet? Collingwood is white. You know, the old boys network. You know, the racist won't villify a whitey, especially from Blighty. You know, non-Asian. You know, 'brothers' should 'stick together' yaar?

Billy wasn't any better than Hair in terms of pure cricketing decisions, i don't think any Pakistan cricket fan can forget that 3rd test against the WI in 2000 or even the 3rd test match in ENG but Billy's attitude towards the Pakistani players was a lot better hence the mistakes seemed genuine(at least to the players).
Hair on the other hand was like a policeman on the field, a lot of PAK players complained about his attitude in the 2005 tour of WI and also during the home series against England. It was quite clear that the storm was building up and it was up to ICC to react and attend the situation but instead of giving Hair a bit of a break he was made to officiate in almost all of Pakistan's series so what happened during the 4th test at the Oval was actually quite inevitable.

Agree the ICC should have foreseen some of the events, much as I disagree with them.

Which junior umpire?
Looks like pretty soon every team will have their bunny umpire and vice-versa. India and Bucknor make for an explosive situation, and we already now have Hair-Lanka and Hair-Pak. Aus-Bowden quite possibly in some near future.
ICC is neither doing anything to make umpires accountable nor anything about using more technology or increasing the pool of umpires persisiting with old and over the hill umpires and in some cases clearly stressed and overworked ones.

Aus have no problem with Bowden . . . he's a knob, but we don't think he is biased or a cheat . . . so that just leaves the subi teams.

Re: Hair unlikely to Umpire in matches involving Pakistan
I think WI wanted an umpire removed from their test series against Aus a couple of years back. ICC didn't oblige then, just as they didn't oblige on India's requests to remove Bucknor before until the last Sydney test...
