Re: Ban v WI, T20 WC, Johannesburg, 13th September
What's the point in having your fast man targeting the ribs of the batsman without a fielder within 70 yards square or behind on the leg side?

When we go to pieces we really go the whole hog. This is unbeleivable.
T20 is a raffle . . . anyone can have a few good overs and win . . . maybe even the poms

Sounds like a really good knock from Ashraful. Hopefully, they'll show highlights of this when i get home.

The Banagrs have been very clever . . .just milking Gayle for singles and having a dash at the quicks, knowing that an edge is pretty much four runs

Looks like the Bangers have this one in the bag...could be a Zimmer/Banger final.

This is when Edwards should be bowling yorkers.
But now he's started bowling length balls.
Lack of discipline and planning in the bowling, and shoddy fielding. If they'd taken catches (which wouldn't be classed as difficult at club level) they'd have won on Tuesday and probably be winning today.

Man, this has been some knock by Ashraful. He is one clean little striker.
At this rate Aus and WI will be gone, leaving Zim and Bangers in their place. Who'da thunk it?

Where are the spinners? Gayle is going at 5 runs per over.
Everyone else is getting smacked.
Sarwan appears to have left his brains in Guyana.
Still, fair play to Ashraful he is kicking arse.

I don't think anyone really cared that much to consider the possibility . . .

Aye. Bennett King must be tearing his hair out with the fact that he cannot get the swaggerers to get the basics of the game right.Gary 111 wrote:This is when Edwards should be bowling yorkers.

Commentator saying there's something of Gavaskar in Aftad Ahmed's batting. Must be something to do with the 20 dot balls in his innings so far because Gavaskar never batted anything like this...

I called for Ronny a bit earlier, but its probably a bit late now. Too many mediocre medium pacers being bowled by WI, when they've got plenty of pace and spin options.
Bravo: 1-0-18-0 today and 2.4-0-39-0 vs SA
Dwayne Smith: 2-0-37-0 vs SA

Meh, other Aussies have noted their indifference, but not me. I don't care if it's french cricket, I still look for Aus to do their best (which, clearly, earlier this morning was not).tac wrote:skully wrote:Man, this has been some knock by Ashraful. He is one clean little striker.

Nothing wrong with the WI catching when the game is all but lost.

And Bravo goes for another 16.
Its a crime bowling him when Powell, Edwards and Rampaul have overs left unbowled.
Now Ronny takes another wicket, but because of all the runs Bravo has leaked its far too late to make a dfference...

Re: Ban v WI, T20 WC, Johannesburg, 13th September
tbf we have bowled and fielded with no common sense, we deserve to lose.
Im a bit miffed that the pitch suited the bangle bowlers so much, but thats life, we didnt adapt.
Good luck to the bangles in the next round.
I'm now definitely in the 20-20 is rubbish camp. Who needs it?

Top little knock from Aftab as well. If nothing else, the success of the minnows in theis tournament has to (as Ian Bishop says) add momentum to their development.
[Awaits Bangers next woeful Test performance (sigh)]

That's because they play Test cricket in exactly the same fashion.
