Re: Ban v WI, T20 WC, Johannesburg, 13th September
Smith is a moron and should be punched in the face. I'm still not sure how he's in the team.
Dwayne Smith, that is. But this Devon Smith isn't much better.

Watching Gayle's dismissal i'm still not quite sure how he managed to get out.
He stood tall in the crease and his weight was back and he was hitting down over the ball. Not too much wrong technically. It should have gone down into the ground well before it reached the fielder. Unless he got a top edge but then you wouldn't have expected it to have gone so fast all that way to backward point.

I think the ball kind of skewed off the face as the bat wasn't angled down sufficiently.
I haven't seen a replay since it happened so my memory may be wrong.

Smith has cocked up both Windies innings so far in this.
He's got to 20+ on both instances without ever trying to attack, leaving the pressure on his fellow batsman.
51 off 52 balls isn't good enough. He should have accelareted at 30 IMO.

Maybe Ronny Sarwan should be opening?
Can work the singles and play the big shots better.

Cricinfo describing that over as a 'run orgy'.

Everyone else has had to go absolutely crazy due to Smiths poor innings.
Still its been difficult to bat on this pitch with the ball not coming onto the bat and turning a lot, so 160 + should be enough if WIndies bowl at all sensibly (big if I know).

Dwayne Smith must be on the 1 in 20 matches when he actually fires

Dwayne Smith going ballistic,
hoping not to be punched in the face by Mr Nolonga no doubt.

164-8, that'll do for me.
As long as the West Indies don't bowl like muppets and field like paraplegics (again) they should defend this I reckon. Anything over 150 on this pitch is enough.

Re: Ban v WI, T20 WC, Johannesburg, 13th September
Yep, probably about 20 runs too many for the Bangars . . . they'll panic once they fall behind and end up getting all out for around 100.
