Rediculous that Eden Gdns doesn't host a test in the series.

Rotate all they like for the 'smaller' series; australia, Pakistan and possibly England and SA should always get Kolkata and Mumbai.
I know it will never happen...

What are the pitches usually like at those 4 grounds, SG? I imagine we'll get a fair bit of spin . . .but the last few tests in India against Pak and SA seem to have been on roads . . .

Re: Australia's Tour of India
October 9-13 - 1st Test, Bangalore: Usually a flat pitch though as lg said a very inauspicious ground for India.
October 17-21 - 2nd Test, Mohali: Used to be India's best pitch for seamers, has changed its character a bit of late. Still a true pitch though.
October 28-Novermber 1 - 3rd Test, Delhi: Always flat, though last test played here against Pak indictated it isn't that flat anymore.
November 5-9 - 4th Test, Nagpur: Flat as far as I know.
PS: All the above 4 pitches except Mohali aid spinners usually from 3rd day onwards.

I'd say that Clark and Lee will be a handful on a dodgy pitch . . .

Re: Australia's Tour of India
Had a beer in an iconic Brisbane public house last night with a bloke that has played a game or two in India. As we were talking a monster cockroach flew in to join us. (I can confirm it wasn't RD). This bloke commented that the cocky reminded him of similar things that had come out in a night game in India. He said that it wasn't a matter of flicking them away with the toe of the bat. These things were that thick on the wicket that he had to lie the bat flat on the ground and sweep them away. Perils and highlights that television misses.

The Creek - not sure that the bowlers had to try too hard - like a scene from a Hitchcock movie.

Horrie - I've had a couple in the Queens Arms recently. Tolerably gentrified.

Re: Australia's Tour of India
hehehe at the above...
park rd is a godawful place...an ex Ms H used to insist on swanning around there and tried to make me attend. As she insisted i wear loafer type shoes as opposed to the trusty thongs i rarely had the misfortune to go there...the foul dregs of the hideously expensive coffee flogged there rivals only the dregs of the yups who frequent the area..still they have their very own Eiffel Tower...billyville...what else is there to say???
