Just out of interest, those forummers who still play, when is your first pre-season friendly?

Ours are tomorrow, and its just been shunting down hailstones the size of grapes here, and its baltic outside.

Best time of the season to play the rain card IMO.

Yeah. I'm training with some NCL Div 3 side - Wellingborough Indians. Facts are I'm a lazy c*nt who chucks though, so I don't offer out much hope - I don't even turn up to every training sesh.

I'm also in my company's team, but I don't like it - it's all the directors and some slack-jaw, namely me, which is cool enough, but I is always uncomfortable.

Not even had a net yet. And nor will I unless it warms up - I'll do myself a mischief running around in the cold at my age.

Pre-season games? You must be playing at a higher level because my club side has never played a pre-season game. A couple of nets the weekend before our first match usually sorts us out Smile

Three full weekends of them, starting this weekend with a game against some Escum crew from Chingford!

I hope to play for a pub side this year. There's a nasty rumour circulating that I might be asked to keep wicket Razz

Are you Indian, Danny? Or are you blacking up and trying to pass yourself off as one?

I've done 3 indoor nets and one outdoors (froze my balls off) - our first 'practice' game is next weekend 19th (bugger, cos I'm away on biz) but back for the start for our first serious game on 26th April.
Thereafter ... hoo bloody ray ... it's cricket every weekend.

How far away do your league games take you, Chas?
Our furthest away game 32 miles into London and slightly less into Bucks.

First game is next weekend, been to a couple of nets and forgot how out of shape i'd gotten, i'm blaming hurting my knee playing football in january ratehr than the beer and lack of trips to the gym.

We don't bother with pre-season friendly nonsense, we play b*stard hard or not all.

We kicik off first weekend in May and my troops have been netting like wild dervishes in preperation.
